   AOL Quilting Community's

    Falling Leaves Mystery

A Fall Mystery in 3 parts beginning July 23!!!

You saw the Preview Shopping Instructions in the July 14 Nine Patch News, now here are the directions (and a repeat of the shopping instructions, too!)

Here is a chance to collect and use a few of those lovely fall fabrics. You will need:

  • 1 generous yard of a medium to large fall print
  • 1 generous yard of a background solid (match or coordinate the background solid with the background of the print, as much as possible)
  • small pieces of solids and/or small prints in: oranges, turkey red, browns, golds, greens, and rusts
  • fabric for backing and binding (1.5 yards should be sufficient) If you want to wait until you are finished before purchasing this, you can or perhaps you might want to use your medium/large print for this.

This will be a three step, three block project with a surprise ending!  There will be two weeks to finish each step!

Instructions are for the basic size, 14" x 42".

Week 1:  This will be your center block.  It may either be done in the Pieced Option or the Appliqué Option.  You choose!

Week 3:  This will be the instruction for Blocks 2 and 3.  The directions are the same for either the Pieced Option or the Appliqué Option!
