THESE PAGES DEDICATED TO BROADCAST RADIO PROFESSIONALS AND ENTHUSIASTS

Created to celebrate all things radio related, this site features a page of links to web sites that offer free daily show prep (mostly jokes, comedy bits and entertainment news). You'll also find useful links, a forum page and information on how to set up your own recording studio  with little more than a computer and $500.00 to $800.00 in software, plus a professional quality microphone.

The plan is to expand to include editorial features on the state of the broadcast industry today, reviews of cutting edge broadcast technology, historical accounts of pioneers and their contributions and late breaking broadcast news (a la Radio & Records Magazine). Perhaps even a classified style "jobs and opportunities" page. But first we're making it fun. After all, we have to make it worth your while to return on a regular basis. Enjoy! And Drop us an e-mail with your questions, comments and suggestions.
HiwayPass.com: "Futurecast"

What Does Telematics Mean To The Future Of Broadcasting?

In the next decade telematics will completely transform the motor-vehicle console into a mobile computing environment capable of everything a PC with Internet access can do, and more! Indeed, automakers have already introduced digital technology as standard equipment on many luxury models.

Motorists using such equipment will begin to discover the benefits of streaming Internet broadcasts over traditional broadcasts employing radio signals, not the least of which is Global Access. Along with wireless users they will be the first to experience webcasts as portable as broadcasts became when the transistor revolutionized electronics 50 years ago.

Traditional broadcast facilities are not likely to fail in the short term, but they will be forced to recon with a new breed of listener requiring the variety and expanded mobility offered by an unlimited number of Internet broadcasters. And as the technology for telecommunications in motor-vehicles improves, the demand for a web site featuring streaming audio and everything else mobility and travel-related will become profound. HiwayPass.com proposes to address that demand. Over twenty web radio formats are now online. While you're at it check out the other features!
