Shape-Its: Play with your food!

I don't know if I'm more excited for myself or my granddaughters. I found a new toy that's as educational as many books, more fun that any video game and as creative as any craft. Shape-Its are food forms that may be used for "pancakes, cookies, cakes, pizza, marshmallow treats, gelatin and more." They come in a clear tote trimmed with primary colors and each kit includes food-safe pens, candy sprinkles, instructions and gel tubes for accents.
I first saw these kits at a "to the trade" showroom at the LA MART. The display mass displayed the kits and some pancakes made with them. I felt like a kid again! Recommended by the Cooking Club of America, my grandchildren shall have a kit for every holiday and a few more so I can play with them.
Shape-Its come in sets with these themes: barnyard, Easter, Halloween, holiday, Jurassic, On-the-Go, pets, sea creatures, sweetheart and zoo. They should cost around $25. and you can find a store that carries them in your area at www.shapeits.com.
