Sharing with Writers:

News from the Desks of Carolyn Howard-Johnson and Friends
Updates:

Are you all planning to come to the LA Times Book Festival on the UCLA campus on April 23 and 24th? Some of my author friends and I will have a booth called “Authors' Coalition.”  We'll be in booth number 905, I section, near Knudsen Hall.  Please visit.  This fair offers tons of seminars and panels for writers and readers and is a great way to spend the day with youngsters. I'll include a list of booth participants in the next "Sharing with Writers."

Raffle for Charity: A group of fine e-book authors is participating in a free CD offer and a raffle; it is associated with our LA Times Festival booth as a promotion. The items include several great LA and Santa Monica area restaurants as well as books and author-promotion type gifts.   Learn more about the raffle and the charity it promotes here: http://www.double-dragon-ebooks.com/raffle.asp  and check out the release at Electronic Book Review at http://www.electronicbookreviews.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&
artid=6&page=1.  This is a great site to work with for your own promotions.

OPPORTUNITIES:

If you have a newsletter I’d like to talk to you about ways we can cross promote.  E-mail me at HoJoNews@aol.com.
Special Thanks Feature:

Peruse the following thank yous for sites, editors and ideas for promoting your own book. All of them featured or recommended THE FRUGAL BOOK PROMOTER: HOW TO DO WHAT YOUR PUBLISHER WON'T or my other books in the last few weeks.

(http://wordthunder.com/showproduct.php/product/96/sort/7/cat/myprod/page/1).  Every writer will find tons of helpful information at this site and at Maggie’s site, www.compulsivereader.com/html/ as well.

To Vickie M. Taylor, who writes novels about strong women, for recommending FRUGAL in her blog.  You can check it out for your own networking possibilities at http://vickimtaylor.blogspot.com .

You can find it in April at http://mudsmith.net/bobbing4-7.html.  Find and download the free cookbook at http://carolynhowardjohnson.com. Bob's newsletter "entertains and outrages but is never boring."

To Dallas Hodder Franklin: In her newsletter for writers she says, "And Carolyn Howard-Johnson gives us another word for her Affecting Words column.
