The Obsidian Dreadnaught, built for our demo reel back in 1991.  It had a skeleton of PVC pipe, with a masonite ribcage.  The hull was built with sheet styrene plastic, and tons of model kit parts.  The overall length of the model when finished was around eight feet.  It was designed so that it could be mounted right side up or upside down depending on how we wanted to film it.  The ship was supposed to be about three miles in length, and the trailer we were designing was very similar to what you saw in Independence day.  Unfortunately for us, they did theirs first!
An animatronic Demon head created by Josh M. Logan for "Demonslayers" based on the story by Kenneth Thomson Jr.  The design was by Kenneth Thomson Jr., Bryan K. Brown and Josh M. Logan.
The skull was made of fiberglass, with a foam latex skin.  The fiberglass was cut out around the jaw and eyebrows so that it could be articulated.  The skin was stretched with remote control servomotors from a remote control airplane kit.
