Trauma has many faces in peoples lives: It is the face of a couple struggling with their relationsip; it is the face of a student struggling with their acedemic issues; it is the face of dealing with a loved one after their accident or one's own accident and readjustment to life; it is the face of not being heard or understood by ones loved ones, parents, friends or colleagues. It is the face of abuse that children suffered in silence as they grew up. It is the face of someone using substances to deal with overwhelming feelings.
In the course of therapy, these experiences are worked on at each person's pace, and put into a context that can allow that experience not to define the person, but become part of their history.
Therapy is a process, and working through all of these traumas involves developing a sense of trust and safety during the course of treatment with me.
