Testing Truth
HOW TO LIVE THE TRUTH

TESTING THE TRUTH
Truth can be tested. The test is faith. You have to have faith to see a truth through to proof. If you do not exercise your faith, you will not have proof.  For instance... If the truth you wish to test is to "trust God," you have to have faith in order to trust God, unless you have already proven this truth.

God never fails us. This can be tested. If you ask God for an answer, the answer will come in a TV program, or a book, or out of someone's mouth—perhaps a conversation within your ear shot. Sometimes the answer comes, and you don't hear it. It doesn't mean God didn't answer; it means you didn't get it. It may not have been the answer you were looking for, so you just didn't get it.

When you trust God, any answer is the right answer, even if it doesn't seem to be the right answer. Many people have followed their inner guidance/voice when the answer didn't seem correct, and yet, the outcome was the outcome they were hoping for, the best outcome of all.

People have a hard time with trusting God. The biggest downfall is discussing it with others. There are so few who have tested or experienced the truth of turning it all over to God. They have no concept of the value. They do not believe God is so personal and caring about the little needs of people.

God is personal, and anything important to you, is important to Him. If you want a large sum of money to satisfy your own pleasures, God may not respond. God may simply lead you to a more worthy goal. Selfish needs do not lead to salvation, to God. Selfish needs satisfied, delays the ultimate.

Should God respond by answering a selfish need as requested, there is no doubt that there will be a toll to pay. The toll may not be required in this life, but sooner or later the toll will be paid.

Sometimes you have to experience the dark in order to yearn for the Light or even recognize or acknowledge Light. A person who has hit rock bottom is always a stronger person, morally and spiritually. When you've experienced the worst, everything above it is better.

When you have better, you seek to have the best. The best is not always determined by how much money you have, or how hard you have had to work for it, or how easy it has been to obtain whatever you have obtained. The best is measured by how much closer you feel to being blessed, how much you feel loved and special beyond your previous experiences.

You have a sense of security which is not based on anything concrete, but something you know deep inside you. The best is when you know you've already been to hell, and you don't ever have to go there again. Because where you're at now, is much better. There's a determination it will only get better, and then it does, and before long it's a way of life. Your way of life. Filled with love, joy, and faith.

Trusting God is really not difficult. Try it with something small or with something important that you don't want to keep putting off. There is a small need lurking. What is it? Do you need a gown to attend a relatives wedding? Do you need a special table to work on? What about a computer to help with your homework or business work? Do you have a need to mend a friendship which up until now you have been unsuccessful in mending? A problem with one of the children which has no solution? What is the need that you can use to test "trusting God." Small or big, choose one.

Say to God you are testing the truth to trust Him. He knows your needs, and you need a nice gown to attend the important wedding, but you don't have the extra money or the ability to sew one. Or, you need a special table to work on, so you can make extra money to take care of your children or your health needs or because the special table will help cut down on the number of hours you have to put in without it. How you don't understand what happened in your special relationship with your friend. You were just being the best friend you could be, but it blew-up in your face, and you want things to get better between you and your friend. Whatever the need, ask God to take charge. "Your will Father, not mine. Please make it (whatever the need) possible.

When foreclosure seems inevitable, and yet something inside of you says it's not possible. It can't happen. Ask God to intervene, to take charge of the situation. Be ready and willing to accept what God has to offer even if foreclosure is part of the process. If you are willing to accept God's solution anything that happens is a blessing, even if it is in disguise.

Losing a house could be a very necessary step in your process, it doesn't mean God expects you to struggle and fight the rest of your life. When you trust God and accept the outcome, the outcome is always better than any other possible alternative.

When your faith begins to waiver, say: "Be gone illusion! I trust God. God will meet my needs."

Remay, tell them about the time you had no food or money.

In 1986 I had an experience in faith and trust. The food incident is significant to the experience.

I had committed a part of my life to God. He revealed a vision to me, and I trusted it was His will, so I accepted my commission with faith. During the course of this period, I worked temporary jobs because permanent jobs were hard to come by. I did not despair over my conditions. Whenever the illusion of lack came to call, I simply said out loud, "You are an illusion. God has asked me to do a certain thing, and He knows I can't do it if I am worried over you. So go away! I trust God. God will provide." I got real good at chasing illusion away, too.

One day, things seemed gloomier than they had been. There was no food in kitchen, and my checking account had about $2.97, but I wasn't worried. I hadn't discussed my financial condition with anyone including my son or closest friends. I didn't want their fear and disbelief to come upon me, and I knew it could happen.

As I was going about my domestic responsibilities, my friend, Barbara, called me on the phone to asked me if I was going to be home, and if she could come over and visit for a while. I welcomed the company, and told her it would be nice to see her. Barbara knew of my mission, but she had no clue about my financial condition.

When I heard the knock at the door, I knew it was Barbara. When I opened the door, there she was. In her hands were two bags of groceries, and one bag was on the floor. She said, with a big grin on her face, "Hi!" I said, "How did you know?" She said she didn't know, but when she was doing her own grocery shopping, a little voice inside her told her to buy me some food. So she did what she was told.

We were both delighted because we both had a lesson in trust. She knew the voice was an authoritative voice, a voice of Light. She heard, she responded, and she was proud to be called to help.

I simply trusted God with a faith so strong, I didn't even question how it would be possible. I just knew that God would handle it, and He did. I didn't have to do anything, not one thing except to trust Him.
