45020 2nd Corporal WILLIAM G. BAILLIE William Baillie was born in Scotland. His military service papers list his next of kin as S. Baillie of 35, Scotia Street in Glasgow. Baillie originally enlisted in the 4th Field Troop, Canadian Engineers and was subsequently transferred to the 3rd Field Company, Canadian Engineers at Valcartier, Canada on the 26th of September 1914. He served in this company as a section Corporal and saw active service in France and Flanders with the 2nd Canadian Division. His unit took part in the following major actions:
2nd Corporal Baillie survived the war. For his service he was awarded the 1914-15 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal.
