Developments in the market place that may affect award ribbon prices:

A very large producer of acetate yarn withdrew from the market place due to a world shortage of wood pulp and an inability to be profitable in the product.  As a result, a press release from Eastman Chemical, who remains the sole producer of acetate yarn in the United States, is raising its prices.  This would ultimately mean that the mills which purchase acetate yarn for satin ribbons are raising their prices, and ultimately raise their prices to award ribbon makers.  Good quality satin ribbon is costly, and may get even costlier in the future.
