HELLO CHAPTER B; WV-DISTRICT AND REGION N CHAPTER OF THE YEAR !! Isn’t that exciting !! We are so excited and so proud of Chapter B…. and we were awarded for our regular activities that we always do anyway! So now, we just need to keep on doing what we are doing. Chapter B……. YOU ARE THE BEST !! Now, down to the activities that Ch-B has been into in March. We had a pie and coffee in Shinnston at Jimmy’s Diner and had a fantastic group of 27 in attendance. On March 15th, we had an awesome meeting. The Region N Director announced WV-Chapter B as the Region N Chapter of the Year, also Buz & Missy Mowrer, WV District Directors announced WV-Chapter B as the District Chapter of the Year. Now, we are in the running for the International Chapter of the Year. Here is the breakdown as we know it; there are over 900 Chapters in GWRRA, each District selected a Chapter, each Region selected a Chapter, so now we are 1 of 13 Chapters in the GWRRA to be selected for the International Chapter of the Year. So, way to go Chapter B! Now, those of you that can, we are planning to attend the TN District Rally on April 24-26, and the Region N Rally on May 29-31. We will have special seating and parking provided for us at that Region N Rally for sure. If you are free those weekends, please plan to attend we can also travel together. We need to show the Region that Chapter B has arrived!! Also at the March meeting, the theme was St. Patrick’s Day, special thanks to Jill Stalnaker and Bev Hinerman for decorating. The Progressive Drawing, of $47.00, was won and lost by Loretta Hinerman, she was not present, so that continues to grow. The Marble game participant was Logan Chipps, he drew a white marble though, and lost $169.00, so it continues to grow. The 50/50 winners were 1st, Ed Jones of $44.00, 2nd, was Darrell Hutson of $27.00, and 3rd was Lucky Sue Roberts with $18.00. We also drew for 2 free WV Rally registrations, and those lucky winners were Missy Fornash and Bev Hinerman. The free meal for next month went to Mike Taylor, we also had 2 guessing jars and those winners were Missy Mowrer, and Bud Taylor. We had a special drawing this month, it was a cleaning bucket with all the necessities, it also included 2 free Buffets for Cottage Corner Restaurant in Salem, and a $10.00 gas card from Salem Citgo. So, there it is, wash the bike, go to dinner and gas the tank! The winner of that was Lucky Sue Roberts! Congratulations to all the winners this month, Chapter B are all winners! April proves to be another busy month for Chapter B. We will be delivering our “Bears for Kids” on the 19th. We are hoping for warm, dry weather so we can ride. We will be making 4 stops in Clarksburg, 2 in Bridgeport, 1 in Grafton, 1 in Jane Lew, 1 in Anmoore and possibly 1 in Fairmont. So far, we have approximately 200 bears and it’s not to late to bring in some more. Remember the bears are for the traumatized children, during accidents. Come join us on the 19th, we will be meeting at the Moose parking lot at 12:00, and pull out no later than 12:30 and we will be heading out to the EMS and Police/Fire Departments. We will return in time for the meeting that evening at the Bon’ Appetit Restaurant, eat at 6:00 and meet at 7:00. So come join us for a great day and evening. We have had to re-arrange our Tech Day, from April 20th to May 4th. Seems Miss Sharon will be out of town helping her Mother, and she kind of wants to be there when we bombard their home! Remember too, that Chapter H’s funday is May 3rd, we plan on the Chapter going to that. Riding season is here, we have waited all Winter for it ! Come join us for a great time. A word on Darren, he was attempting Special Forced Selection again, he was on the last 2 miles of the ruck sack march and sprained his knee, yes, the same one he injured before. So now, he is in therapy again, and he is headed to Iraq in Mid-June. Please keep Darren and all the Soldiers in your prayers. Ride Safe Darrell & Debbie

WV Directors March News

WEST VIRGINIA CHAPTER B IS THE 2007 REGION “N” CHAPTER OF THE YEAR! At the WV-B Chapter gathering on Saturday, March 15th, Region “N” Director Frank Albert presented the Chapter with the large bronze Region “N” Eagle Trophy, seen on the podium, for being selected the 2007 Region “N” Chapter of the Year! Also, West Virginia District Directors “Buz” and “Missy” Mowrer are shown presenting a large “Loving Cup” to the Chapter for being selected the 2007 West Virginia Chapter of the Year. Pictured from left to right are: Darrell and Debbie Hutson; 2008 WV-B Chapter Directors and former WV District Directors Buz and Missy Mowrer; current WV District Directors and former WV-H Chapter Directors, Terry and Sharon Broadwater, 2007 WV-B Chapter Directors and former Chapter Educators and Chapter C.O.Y. WV-B will now be entered in the International Chapter of the Year selection process. And at Wing Ding #30 in Greenville, SC, the National Chapter of the Year Director, Jim Hutchens, will announce the overall winning Chapter of the process. WV-B is now 1 of 13 Chapters being considered for the International award. 2007 was the first year that GWRRA had a selection process to choose a Chapter of the Year at the District, Region and National levels. Although the program is still in its infancy, it has gotten off to a great start. The program is designed to recognize the top 10 Chapters in each District and the top Chapter amongst those 10. That top Chapter is then evaluated with other top District Chapters at the Region level and a winner is selected to go onto National. The qualification process for a Chapter to become eligible is very simple and the areas of scoring points are the basics of Chapter life that is expected of any GWRRA Chapter. All Chapters can easily qualify to be in the program and the Chapter’s day-in and day-out events, activities and rides are the basis for those points. We want to thank each Chapter that submitted paperwork for the 2007 Chapter of the Year selection process and we encourage every Chapter in Region “N” to become qualified and begin keeping track of its Chapter life and activities for 2008. WV-B will now have an article each month in the Region “N” Newsletter and their calendar of events will be featured each month as well. I’d like to see all the other Chapters in Region “N” give WV-B a real “run-for-the-money” for next year’s presentation! Join us in congratulating WV-B and to wish them Good luck in Greenville! Frank and Kathy Albert Region N Directors
