Hello everyone.
Thank you for taking the time to visit!
Did you know that many families living in Northern Arkansas were related?
They moved together and settled in the same areas. So if you are looking for
one family name, chances are the people living around them were related.
The women seemed to affect where the families lived; they wanted to live near their sisters and brothers.
My husband was born in Newton County, Arkansas.
I started researching the FLOOD\FLUD side of the family tree and found he was related to just about every older Newton County family.
In this 23 year research project, I have gathered many, many family group sheets, and have a large collection of census, marriage and cemetery books for the Northern Arkansas area.
Have also ordered about 84 Civil War Military and Pension records for Northern Arkansas soldiers. Have indexes for Arkansas soldiers.
Belong to several Genealogy Societies; their quarterlies are very helpful in research.
Because I had gathered up so much family  information and researched so many families, I published the Newton County, Arkansas 1900 Census in regular Census Form and in 1900 Newton County, Arkansas Census Plus Township Books (there were 22 townships in 1900 and the population was about 12,358 people). I did lots of microfilm reading and hand copying
names from census, marriage and cemetery books before my computer days.
This research also lead me to publish Newton County, Arkansas Marriage Books.
