My career in psychology began in 1979 when my friends
advised me that I was “too analytical,” and ”too focused on interpersonal
struggles within the company rather than on marketing scientific instruments.”
After several months of counseling including some career guidance, I decided
that my friends were right, my interest was in working with people.
So, I left the
business world and returned to school for six years of “retraining.” I graduated
with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1986 and immediately went to work building a private
practice. I have never regretted
the years of sacrifice necessary to make this career change, rather I see my
early experience in business as important and helpful as I listen to my clients
struggle with some of the same issues that I had.
By way of further introducing myself to you, here is my
resume.
