Lesson Philosophy
We aim to make your musical experience fun and educational by combining the fundamentals with your musical preferences. Achieving the best results requires personal attention, weekly attendance and a commitment to daily practice
Lesson Program
REGISTRATION
You can sign up any at any time, however to ensure a specific time,
call the first week in August for the Fall/ Winter/ Spring Schedule
( September through June ) and the first week in June for the Summer Semester ( July and August )
PAYMENT
DUE - The first lesson of the month.
TERM - Calendar month

24 hours notice required-(Monday-machine message before business hours)
ONE schedule CHANGE per month
Changes beyond the ONE allotted are at your expense.
EXCUSED ABSENCES are CREDITED.
Credits must be used within 30 days.
SCHEDULING
WE DON'T RUN ON THE SCHOOL CALENDAR. There is a break week between schedule changes.

Electric Bass
    Pat Lavery: Pat graduated WestConn in 1989 and has been playing and teaching professionally ever since. Dave studied with Lyndon Christie and Dave Anderson. He's also composed music for TV shows including Another World, The X Files and Road Rules. Pat's got a great voice too and a very busy performance schedule. Pat began teaching for Ridgefield Music in 1999.
    Ken Cascioli: Ken graduated w/ Professional Music Degree with a Music Education Core from Berklee in 2002 and began teaching at Ridgefield Music. Ken taught through college. Locally, he studied with Matt Roccio and tours with Decifunk.
Clarinet & Saxophone
    Dave Savitsky: Dave's a 1996 Hartt School graduate. Dave's taught at Ridgefield Music since 1998. He teaches traditional sax ,improvisation and ear training. Dave studied with Jackie McLean and Ken Radnofsky. Dave plays with the jazz quartet "Blue" and works with the funk-rock-fusion band "Fro".
    Alan Sherry: 2007 marked Alan's teaching debut at Ridgefield Music, but he’s been teaching since 1998. Alan received a BM in Jazz Performance from Mcgill University in 2004. He also teaches flute.
Drums     Phil Banette: Phil has taught at Ridgefield Music since 1990 and teaches music in the Ridgefield public schools. A graduate of Berklee College of Music with a degree in Music Education, he studied privately with Joe Corsello, Bill Norine, and drum guru Gary Chester. Phil's drum instruction program begins with rudiment studies, and progresses to drum set work in a variety of styles and includes soloing techniques. You can see Phil perform with the jazz band The Reluctant Lemmings.
    Steve Mansfield: Steve received his Bachelor of Music degree from New York University. He studied at the Drummer's Collective with Kim Plainfield, Frankie Malabe, Adam Nussbaum and John Riley. He has performed and recorded in a variety of idioms throughout New England. 1994 was Steve's first year teaching at the store.
    Matt Moadel: Matt's a 1996 WestConn graduate. He studied with Dave Smith. Matt started teaching at Ridgefield Music in 1997. He is fluent in many styles.
    Todd Budich: Todd began teaching at Ridgefield Music in 2001. He graduated Berklee with a Bachelors in Performance. He’s studied with Rod Morgenstein, Casey Schuerell, and Kenwood Dennard and he continues to perform in a variety of musical settings.
    Chris Pike: 83 Berklee grad and owner of Ridgefield Music
Guitar:
Mike Hoffman: Mike’s been on staff many years. He’s studied with the Linc Chamberlain, authored ‘Serious Guitar’ and is a free lance columnist  for ‘Guitar Player’ magazine. Mike is a veteran of studio work and countless bands. Check out his website- seriousguitar.com.
Brendan Saadat: Brendan is a Berklee graduate. He joined the staff during the 2001-2002 school year. His credentials include teaching, performance and recording experience
Ed Diaz: Ed studied with Chris Morrison and Steve Famiglietti. Ed began his Ridgefield Music teaching tenure in 2002. He enjoys performing and recording an eclectic mix of music.
Russ De Luca: Graduated Suny Purchase 2001 with a Bachlor of music. 2007 was Russ’ Ridgefield Music debut but he’s been playing since he was 7 years old. He’s a writer and producer as well – checkout his tracks @ www.myspace.com/russdeluca.
Flute,Piccolo
    Heather Levanti : 2002 marked Heather’s Ridgefield Music debut.She has a Bachelor of Music : Flute Performance from WCSU. She’s teaching since 1999 and plays with the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra.
Piano
Ray Moore: Ray began teaching at the store in spring 1997. He has had a long, distinguished and award winning career as a recording engineer with CBS Records and Sony Music. He received his BA from Queens College, CUNY and is ready to share his piano talents. He is also teaching for Katonah-Lewisboro Continuing Education.
    Chris Durham: Chris received his degree from WestConn in 1991. Chris brought his jazz piano and composition talents to Ridgefield Music in 1998.  
    Warren Scott Fentress: Warren began private teaching in 1986. He studied Jazz Improv at Dick Grove School of Music. 2001 was Warren’s first at Ridgefield Music.
Brass
    Laura Telman: Laura debuted at Ridgefield Music summer 2007. A fine trumpeter, she can also teach other brass instruments. As of 2007 –08, she is working towards a Music Education degree at West Conn. She’s the principal trumpet in WCSU Wind Ensemble & Symphony Orchestra. Laura’s been teaching privately since 2003.
Strings
    Bruce Sloat: Ridgefield Music welcomed Bruce in 2004. He has a Bachelor of Viola Performance from WestConn. He’s been teaching since 1999 and plays with the Ives String Quartet and the Barber String Quartet. Bruce teaches violin, viola and beginning cello.
    Colleen McGuirk: Colleen began teaching at Ridgefield Music in 2001. Cello is her instrument, but she can teach up to intermediate violin and viola. She teaches at Barlow Elementary.
