Done on a mat on the floor, it centers around yoga-like stretching and acupressure points. It's a really unique experience in massage, great for someone looking for a very different kind of bodywork experience.

Thai Yoga Massage is given to a fully clothed client lying on a thai mat on the floor. It consists of slow, steady & continuous movements made with suitable pressure using hands, elbows, forearms & feet. Each session incorporates slow rhythmic compression and deep stretching.  The stretching movements in Thai Massage affect the entire body by increasing flexibility, releasing both deep and superficial tension, and helping the body's natural energy to flow more freely.   The acupressure & techniques used can help to reduce pain and increase oxygen & blood circulation to deficient areas.

Traditional massage of Thailand is said to have originated over 2500 years ago and was once performed only by monks in temples, or wats, as part of the Buddhist practice of Metta, or "loving kindness." A good practitioner of Thai massage maintains concentration, close attention to the needs of the client f gratitude to the recipient for allowing him/her to be of service.

The theoretical basis of Thai massage is the existence of the "energy body," which includes 72,000 "sen" or energy lines. In Thai massage we address the ten main sen using pressure on specific points along these lines, compressions and stretches, releasing blockages to restore the free flow of life energy.

At this time I wish to express gratitude to my Master teacher,  Andreas.
