ROCKWOOD PARK JEWISH CENTER

ROCKWOOD PARK JEWISH CENTER

Our beautiful shul

Rockwood Park Jewish Center is the only Orthodox synagogue in Howard Beach, Queens.  Howard Beach is a centrally located section of Queens.  It is on the Brooklyn-Queens Border near JFK Airport.  It is a bit of suburbia in the city.  We have all the advantages of living on the Island with all the benefits of living within the five boroughs of NYC.  (e.g. much lower taxes, better public transportation access, etc.)  Rabbi Tzvi Berkowitz, a member of the Rabbinical Council of America and National Chaplain for the Shomrim Society, leads the congregation.  Rabbi Berkowitz has been instrumental in the building of a brand new mechitzah in the shul.  We are actively raising funds for a community Mikvah.  Our Cantor, Yehoshua Samuels, has earned the nickname “The Voice”.  We have also begun the first Yeshiva K’Tana, in this part of Queens, for 3 -7 year olds.  Come down & see us we have many things to do for children of all ages – 3-300 !!!
