Project Mercury, America's first man-in-space program, was more complicated than is generally known. "No Go" explores early directions in manned space exploration that were considered by NASA and other agencies but not adopted, with details on unused Mercury spacecraft and Mercury missions that were not flown. Some missions, like launching pigs, were potentially useful if weird. Others, like one-man flights to the Moon, were dangerous and daring. Project Mercury's appearances in media fiction are also covered.

"No Go" is written for real-space scale-model makers, space-program historians, and space-exploration fans, as well as anyone simply interested in what might have been.
