| Our daughter...
She was 3-1/2 years old,
living in a Russian orphanage, when the adoption agency first showed me her photo.
She was one of hundreds, yet I couldn't put her photo down. Her smile and the
mischievious twinkle in her eyes stole my heart. I knew immediately that she
was the daughter I longed for, the "dream" I had hoped would one day become a
reality. My husband and I
traveled across the world to get her. I can't begin to tell you the thrill of
holding her trembling body in my arms for the first time; of hearing her say
"Mama" in her soft, tremulous voice; or her face when I answered, in the Russian
I had learned especially for that moment:
"I'm your Mama, and I love you." |
One to love wasn't
enough...
Our
son...
Our daughter was six years old when we
decided to adopt another child, a little brother for her from Kazakhstan. Several
years have passed since our return in September 2000, and our son has
adjusted to his new sister, family, and country. He's thrilled and amazed by everything he sees, and
happiness shines in his eyes constantly. He's
a lover and a hugger, and laughter echoes throughout our home. Needless to say,
our children are the constant joy of
our lives. |

Our children are now 15 and 13
and are doing great in school. They're
like any normal siblings: they argue but enjoy doing things together.
Like most teenagers, they don't keep their rooms shipshape, but
they help with family chores. Also, I've added some
