This is why I love Pacey Witter: ********************************** Here are a million reasons why Pacey is THE MAN. Let's begin with a simple comparison. Dawson: cute in a large-foreheaded kind of way, very intelligent (as is proven by his excessive use of SAT vocabulary), but in matters of life and love...about as smart as a brick wall. The boy is oblivious to everything that is going on around him. Really, could Joey have been more obvious with her "I can't tell you" speech in the library that day they all had detention? Pacey: Shy and awkward, he has that boyish charm - the kind that never fades no matter how old he gets. He uses language a real boy his age would use and every once in a while, he gets to spit out some really cool line. (Like most of us in this world, this is a rare occurrence for him.) He makes mistakes, like spitting out some rather personal info about himself and Ms. Jacobs while some greasy little dweeb was smoking in the stall, but takes responsibility for them the way a real man would...for example, making himself look like a fantasizing geek so that Tamara would get off the hook. He doesn't pity Dawson (thank GOD!) when Mr. Forehead is feeling sorry for himself with another one of his "I have a really hot girlfriend who's had sex before and some other totally cute chic who's in love with me...my life sucks" whines. What makes Pacey truly cool is that he's REAL. He doesn't sit around philosophizing about how much better life would be if it were a Steven Speilberg movie. He doesn't go on and on about how hard his life has been and how we should all admire how strong he's been to overcome the obstacles (*cough*JEN*cough*). Like our heroine Joey, he just muttles through. He just DOES stuff and whatever happens...happens. Pacey Witter is a fine example of what a true man should be...plus, he's really cute! ******************************************************************************************************
