Welcome to The USS Saytr
It was here that we all learned a few things about Murphys
Law. We changed 4 Engines and Two transmissions in one week. Each New Engine would make
one Trip around the Repair Ship and lock up. I can't tell you how many times we had to be
towed back to the ship. It turned out the Rebuild Shop had some problems with Quality
Control.... ANYBODY KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS?? |
That
is my Boat Captain Mikel Manual (still looking for him) The look on our face tells it all.
It is the look of disgust. |
 Tom
(Clayton)Ogden and myself. I found Tom in Jan of 99 in Buena Vista Co. Welcome Home
buddy.!.! |

had passed. |

Sunset,
nightfall was coming.! |
| The Rest of the pictures are the return trip to
Tram Chim on the Grand Canal. The Grand Canal Runs Parallel to The Border. We
supported the Vietnamese Army in there effort to keep the Viet Cong from using the Rivers
and canals to haul supplies into South Vietnam. We received two North Vietnamese Battle
Flags from the South Vietnamese Army for Supporting them during some minor Altercations... |

Peace.!.!
For those that fight for it, Freedom has a taste..
The protected will never know.
God Bless our Soldiers, Sailors and Fly Boys. Be glad
that we have young men to serve our country. This good old United States of America may
not be perfect but it sure beats the alternative. |
| Thanks for Stopping In. I hope you enjoyed my Senior
Class Trip. It was an experience that I will never forget. I would like to find some of
the guys listed on these pages. Later on I plan to post the final page. You see after this
we trained and turned over the boats to the Vietnamese Navy. We the American Advisors were
stationed at Op Base Tan Chau 30 miles below the Cambodian Border. Our operation centered
around Convoy support to Phnom Penh. We supplied the Boats and gave air support. Once
again it was the Sea Wolfs, Cobras, Ov-10 Broncos and now and then an F14 strike.
