Randy has worked in all aspects of Nature Center and Environmental Education facilities.  He started out in college working at the local nature center (Tanglewood) in Elmira New York and over the years and a number of jobs later he is the Director (Environmental Educator II in state job title lingo) of the popular Minna Anthony Common Nature Center located in Wellesley Island State Park.
Randy received a BA in Biology from Susquehanna University in 1985.  What really makes him stand out is the wide variety of experiences he has had over his career.

He has worked with Pennsylvania Environmental Interpretive Technicians during an internship in College, held a job for two summers at Tanglewood Community Nature Center under the tutelage of orinthologist and naturalist Bill Ostrander.  He also held the job as Director of Natural Sciences at the Hidden Valley 4-H camp for two summers.  This camp is in the beautiful Watkins Glen State Park in their Group Camp area.  From here he went on to work at Greenkill Outdoor Education Center, a residential environmental education center that serves schools from New York City and Long Island.  He also did a short stint at the Madden Outdoor Education Center before returning to Greenkill and then the Director/Naturalist position of Tanglewood Community Nature Center.

After Tanglewood Randy went on to become Environmental Education Director of Fairview Lake YMCA which is the residential Environmental Education Center that serves the 'oranges' of New Jersey (North-Central) and groups from New York City and Long Island.

Randy then moved to the Philadelphia, Pa area where he became the program coordinator at the popular city owned Briar Bush Nature Center located in Abington, PA.  Here he got a taste of suburban Philadelphia and developed many after school programs and some very popular preschool programs.

Randy next was offered the position as Environmental Educator II (director) of the Minna Anthony Common Nature Center located in Wellesley Island State Park.  The nature center was behind in the times and over the past 11 years he has transformed it into one of the top centers in the Northeast.  Working with the 'Friends' group that supports the programming of the center he has re-vitalized the center with a better hiking and ski trail system, improved exhibits, a renovated museum and offices and many new programs.

Randy's ultimate professional goal is to open a Conservation and/or Environmental Education Center in Northcentral Pennsylvania (Potter County area) and do educational programs for the public as well as fund and assist in research of that unique environment.  Anyone have an extra 9.7 million dollars to donate to the cause?!  If so Click here and email me.
