1. An unissued M-6 bayonet manufactured in 1968, a Vietnam era M-6 bayonet, and an M8A1 scabbard intended for the M-6 or M-7 bayonets. The M-6 bayonet was used on the M-14. The bayonet was intended for close range fighting but it had many other practical uses.
2. This is a unissued M1956 Entrencing Tool cover, dated 1965. The covers were used to carry either the M1943 Etool or the M1951 Etool. The cover has an attachment for the M8 Bayonet scabbard. Also seen here is an M1951 etool in an M1956 Etool carrier with an M6 bayonet in it's M8 scabbard attached.
3. This is an unissued M1943 Entrenching tool dated 1945. Though this folding etool is a World War II piece of equipment, soldiers in Vietnam carried these in large qauntities. Many soldiers preffered these over the newer model M1951 Combination Tool which was heavier in weight. also seen here is the etool in an M1956 Etool carrier with an M6 bayonet in it's M8 scabbard attached.
4. This is a 1950 dated M1951 Combination entrenching tool. It is interesting to note the etool was manufactured in 1950, prior to it's M1951 model year. The M1951 was slight improvement over the M1943 etool with the addition of a pick. It is also slightly heavier than the M1943.
