I have organzed the field gear section into sevral pages.
Ammunition Pouches Canteens Packs and Rucksacks Bayonets and Etools Other Field Gear

Web belt1. An M-1956 cotton canvas individual equipment belt. Im not sure of the belt's date because it's hard to read. This belt has horizontal webbing, typical of early M-1956 belts. The web belt was used to carry a soldiers equipment. 2 ammo pouches, 2 canteens, sometimes a buttpack, and a first aid pouch were attached to the belt using ALICE clips. Usually a pair of M-1956 suspenders were used to support the belt and it's attachments' weight.
Web belt2. This is a post 1961 M-1956 cotton canvas individual equipment belt . This belt has vertical webbing which became a standard feature used on later web belts including those currently used by the Armed Forces. The date on this one is also hard to read.
M1956 Load carrying suspenders3.This a 1960 dated M1956 canvas Load Bearing suspenders. This was used to evenly distribute the weight of one's equipment. This one has the earlier wire hooks rather than the spring hooks.

M1956 suspender hooks5. A comparison between the front suspender hooks of the M1956 suspenders. The hook on the left is the early rounded bent wire hook. The hook on the right is the later stamped flat hook.
First aid pouch and dressingFirst Aid Dressing6. An M-1956 canvas first aid/compass pouch and first aid dressing. This 1967 dated pouch is in unissued condition.
M1912 Holster7. Soldiers who carried a Colt M1911 .45 Automatic Pistol, carried it in this black leather M1912 holster. This holster was manufactured by Buchheimer in 1964. It attached to the grommets of the pistol belt using the M1910 wire hanger.
