The last Studebaker was built in 1966. It marked the end of a company said to be the world’s oldest manufacturer of highway vehicles including early wagons, carriages electric and gasoline automobiles.
The Studebaker brothers started their business in a blacksmith shop, shoeing horses and making wagons. In 1857 the US government ordered 100 wagons for the Federal troops and this was the beginning of their transportation business.
