Other than Chevron, I also sailed for Coastal Tankships and for Mobil Oil aboard the "MV T. W. Nelson." I worked on land in Dallas, Texas, at the Hotel Crescent Court & Club, the Dallas Playboy Club, and Baby Doe's Matchless Mine among others. My last land job was as Chef for Park Central Retirement Community in Amarillo, an experience I will always cherish, but the sea's pull (along with a few of the benefits of working for an oil company) was just too strong.
In my off time, I enjoy cooking, love to eat out ("fine food" or whatever else is available), have an interest in wine, travel and music. Kind of a homebody when I get home and find few things surpass sitting around with friends, eating, enjoy a little wine (that's a Texas sailor's size little) listening to music (mostly jazz but I am becoming somewhat of an Energy 92.7 listener in San Francisco). If there is no one around, I might easily be found doing these same things, alone. Though talking to the plants, with the music a tad louder and not keeping track of the wine at all.
