Directions to Gribneau`s Getaway House
North Bound: Exit 31 off New York Thruway (Route 90) at Utica. Follow Route 12 North to Alder Creek (25 miles). Fork Right to Route 28 North. Follow 28N through Old Forge to Inlet (38 miles). Continue 1 1/4 miles north on Route 28. The cottage is located 2 driveways before Drakes Inn. Sign says Gribneau`s Getaway
South Bound: Exit 23 off Adirondack Northway (Route 87) at Warrensburg, turn left and cross over Route 87. Turn right on Route 9 North. Follow Route 9 through village (6-7 miles). Fork left to Route 28 North (opposite motel and autobody shop). Follow to Blue Mountain Lake. Take left to Route 28 East (follow signs to Old Forge). Travel 24 miles toward Old Forge and Inlet. Pass Deer Meadows Motel on left, approach Drakes Inn on right, then start looking for sign on right:

About the Area
Unrivaled opportunities for boating, canoeing, swimming, fishing, sailing, trail hiking and mountain climbing and snowmobiling are offered by this lake region of the beautiful Adirondack Mountains. Boasting 46 peaks of 4000 feet or more, over a thousand lakes, and an apparently endless forest, this area is well known for its serenity and as a haven for hay fever victims.
Though surrounded by wilderness, you are convenient to grocery stores, churches, gift shops, garages, laundromats, public tennis courts, theaters, golf courses, and restaurants; even a well-equipped medical center, which we hope you wont need, but is great to have if you do.
Our cottage has a deck which overlooks the lake. Complete kitchen, with new electric refrigerator/freezer and electric range with oven, bath with shower, hot water, automatic heat, wall to wall carpeting, cable TV, FM radio, toaster, Mr. Coffee, and good beds to insure the comfort of our North Woods visitors.
We supply dishes, silverware, pots and pans as well as blankets, bedspreads, mattress covers and pillows. We do not supply firewood, but it is available locally. Weekly visitors provide their own paper products, bed linen, bath and dish towels and plenty of sunshine. Two day minimum stay depending on availability.
Two large docks, lakeside decks and firepit, swing set and huge lawn contribute to family fun. The house has a gas grill offering picnicing in mountain-fresh air.
We have a aluminum boat, flat bottom boat, canoe and paddleboat included in rent. Larger boats for water skiing and a pontoon boat or party barge can be obtained from a nearby boat livery. There is ample docking for guests own boats. Seaplanes call at our dock for those wishing rides.
