When I come to the end of the road
and the sun has set for me...

I was fortunate to have met Darryl. We met through the game of Electric Football. That is what we shared. A passion for that game. I would never have known Darryl if not for that. I thank God for the short time I knew him on earth but know that I will see him in heaven.

He is a friend to remember, a friend we love so much,
the memory runs through my mind of the last time we touched.
He lived a life of happiness, a life filled with love,
and from someone elses mistake he looks down on us from up above.
He was always there to make you laugh when your day was going wrong.
Where was he the day where wehad to say "so long"?
Why did it have to end this way in so much pain,
since he left this world, things have never been the same.
I can no longer look forward to tomorrows anymore,
because I know that they will never be the way they were before.
Not seeing his face, not hearing his voice,
I wish there could of been some choice.
Life can begin and end so fast,
the memory of Darryl Kimbrel will always last.
I wish there was some way I could of said goodbye,
The thought of him runs through my head as I look up in the sky.
Knowing he is lookin down on us with a smile on his face,
remembering the life he lived before he left this place.
If his life didn't end so quick he would of gotten far,
only if the other guy had chosen not to get into that car.
So as I end this poem I want you to remember this
live your life to the fullest, because it could end real fast
base your life on the future but keep memories of the past

This is Darryl's Mom -&- Dad, there's not enough ink in this printer to type about all the good times we had together as a family. A few of them comes in mind, like going to a trout farm fishing with MaMa Ruth, the 1992 Sugar Bowl game and beating Miami for the National Championship -&- watching BAMA beating Auburn in Auburn for the first time. Also there's not enough words in this world to say how much we MISS him. Oh GOD it hurts so bad, we didn't know how much we really LOVED him. And for all the FAMILY -&- FRIENDS that miss him too, Thank you for helping us get to this point in our life, with out you we couldn't have done it. A Special thanks to CRAZYKAJN for doing his web page. AND for all the ones who have lost a LOVE ONE our HEARTS and PRAYERS go out to them.

Hi I'm Megan, Sue's daughter. I talked to Mr. Darryl a few times online, he was a very nice man. I am sorry to hear about his accident. I miss talking to him online. I know his parents miss him alot, but he's up in heaven watching over all of us. I never did meet Mr. Darryl but I wish I could have.

We as parents of Darryl would love to thank ya'll for signing Darryl's web page . Crazykajn is updating it soon with more pictures -&- about the trial. Johnnie -&- I went to the cemetry the other day to clean -&- change the Hummingbird feeders , when a Hummingbird landed on my finger, he just set there for awhile untill I started to raise my hand up. Darryl loved to watch them so much!! We are doing a little better, or sleeping better anyway, now the trial is behind us. Darryl we are so proud of you!!, you had so much Love in your heart for all !! Bama's not doing to good :( maybe will make a come back. That's not the most important things I know now, just a game.

I went to school with Darryl and he graduated with my sister, Jacquie. We are so glad to have found this page dedicated to his memory. He was such a sweet guy and oh that beautiful smile. That was the first thing Jacquie and I remembered about him. I hope that his parents are able to find peace in knowing how will loved -&- remembered he is. You are in our prayers.

Well Darryl we made the trip to UCLA game , the Rose Bowl was beautiful, with all the mountains around it , the sky was so blue,your Mom ,Shane -&- I had a great time, only way it would have been any better if we had won the game, Bama sure didn't have their A game, not even their C Game. :( Mom did great on the the airplane, I never thought she would do so good, but after what she's been through the last 9 Mos. I guess it was easyest thing so far. Don't really know why I'm writing this you where there too, with us.:) OK we would love to thank all the Family -&- Friends that was at the trail with us -&- the ones that called checking on us dureing that whole week, for if not for them
-&- God don't think we could have made it. Darryl you where so much like "Maw Mam Ruth" , -&- "Paw Phillip" you had so many friends old , young ,male ,female,and we're so pround that you didn't see color,or religion only the good in people. the world needs more like you -&- Clinton Shelton sure would be a better Place to live !!! I think your Mom -&- I can now take two or three steps forward, maybe do something positive in some small way. "Ol" we may have a slim lead on who got your things from your car. We'll follow up on that for sure, will never give up on getting your things back, -&- prosecute the ones who are guilty!! If I hadn't allready told you we have a new little kitten , found it at the cemetery , it's so sweet a real lap cat -&- he loves to ride in the car on my shoulder. :)all the others are ok with him except Simmie she runs.Miss Lilly is great with it too. Darryl we sure miss you son, this place will never be the same. You feeled our life, you where our life. Ok I got to get some sleep. God Bless You -&- all your Friends -&- Family members.

Darryl... Justice was served in the court room for you! Although this won't bring you back to all of us, you're good name is cleared. I can tell that meant alot to your mom and dad. I miss you Darryl and all the talks we had, all the laughs we shared! I will never forget you or any of these times that I was lucky enough to spend with you. I know one day we will meet again, and you will be waiting with a smile.
To Denny and Johnnie,
I want to thank you... thank you for doing everything that ya'll did to see that justice was done for Darryl. I know this has been a total nightmare for the two of you. I can't even imagine all that the both of you went through. But... because of the two of you, the guy that did is where he belongs, in jail! I know Darryl is looking down at both of you and smiling, he is very proud! I can tell how much ya'll love him and the closeness ya'll shared, by everything ya'll say and do. Ya'll are lucky, that closeness doesn't come often enough. Be thankful for all the happy times that ya'll shared with Darryl. Ya'll will always have those special memories to look back to and smile. Take care and if ya'll ever need me, remember I am here for the both of you.

Darryl I know that you are so proud of your mom and dad. I wish I had not spent last week with them the way that we all had to be together. I wish we could have all spent it with you doing something fun. I think often about all the things we did when we were kids and how much fun we always had at mama's. I wish we had spent more time together as we got older. Even though we didn't get to see each other much the love never went away. Justice was served in the court room for you. I promise that I will help you moma and daddy to keep him in jail. Until the day that I take my last breath I will fight at his parole hearings for you. I love you and miss you very much.

The Jury convicted him for Murder -&- DUI for Drugs , and thay's what he DID, Murder you !! , -&- killed us too. OK enough of this. Darryl you will not believe what your Mom -&- I are going to. We are Flying to see Bama -&- UCLA football game in "THE ROSE BOWL" Mike , Chad -&- some more of his friends are going. Shane your Mom -&- I , Jerry -&- Troy are going. -&- YOUR GOING TOO, in all our HEARTS. Darryl when we got that report from E.C.M. we didn't give up on you. We did apologize to Benita!!! We went crazy I guess, just didn't beleave it, She has been good to us though this whole thing -&- having a hard time her self. We went to see Braves play with her, have been to the Hill a few times even went to Logans the orther day. You would have been Proud of her as we are. She did a great job on the stand, I know you where there helping her too.

To Johnnie -&- Denny,
I just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. You have many wonderful memories. You had such a special relationship with Darryl. You were more than his parents you were his friends. The picture in the web page of the three of you together shows how happy and what a close relationship that you had. That is the kind of relationship that all parents would love to have with their children. I hope that as my boys grow that we can share that same kind of bond. You are great people and you have many many friens. So when you feel lonely and the need to talk call on your family and friends that is what we are here for. And always remember that God is here for you and he will give you the strength that you need.

This is for to you Darryl,This morning the 21st. of Aug. is 9 Mos. since the wreck, the trail starts this morning, we wish there wouldn't be any need for a trail -&- you where here with us getting ready for the football season.! you are here in our hearts,we miss you so much. all the babys -&- Miss Lilly sure miss you, they are doing good. Shane bought some land with a small lake on it in CenterStar. your Mom -&- I have been going over there to fish, she has caught some big catfish. Greg ,Uncle Bill, -&- Shane are there helping her get the fish off. Darryl ! Mike -&- I played Golf a few weeks ago at Point Mallard we had a good time, heck he pared the frist hole -&- I missed a short putt for par, but after that we got back on our games. I don't even know what we shot. I went over to his house for a while we talked , laught -&- cryed together. I think it helped us, I know it did me. OK I will finish this tonite got to get ready. We love you Darryl are fighting for YOU -&- YOUR GOOD NAME.

I just want to let both of you know that I'm thinking and praying for both of you. I can still see Darryl's smile, when he smiled, his eyes looked so bright. He was a very handsome and well mannered gentleman. I miss him too, even though we didn't see each other often. Sometimes I think my life is so sad because of the three angels I have lost, but I turn around and look at you guys and I know it's much harder for you two, because you had him so much longer. I know he was both of your lives. You both did an excellent job of raising him because he was so well thought of. He is missed dearly. We love you and MAY GOD BLESS YOU with some kind of inner peace.

I've finally figured how to work my computer. I am so pleased to have you guys for friends.I want you to know that I loved your son very much.Darryl was a good child. He always had a nice word for
everybody.Healways had us laughing about something.Remember Johnnie when he had us laughing about you coming home from work because you were itching.I know that I've been never been thru this, but when you hurt I hurt.I also go thru times when I think I'm dreaming and will wake up.But then reality set in and I realize I have to go on. We didn't know Darryl for very long but we thought very much of him.WE had several good times with him at Logans and he made us feel very welcome at his and his parents home. We'll always remember him and keep Johnnie and Dennie in our hearts and prayers.

This is Ricky, Darryl's uncle. I've got so many wonderful memories of Darryl. When Darryl was little his mom --&-- dad would bring him to see me play Pee Wee football. He had a purple sweatshirt with my football number 33 on it. As Darryl got older we went to so many Hazlewood football games. Darryl used to say that we'd been all over the state to watch Hazlewood play football. I was always so proud that he was my nephew. When people would say that we looked alike, I felt honored, because I thought he was such a nice looking boy. I always hoped that he felt the same, or at the very least he wasn't ashamed that we favored. I can remember the Intelevision football game that Darryl had. He would bring it down to Mam Maw's, and we would play for hours. I very seldom beat Darryl, he was always a second ahead of me. He loved that. I loved to watch Darryl play golf. He was so talented. When I think of Darryl, I can't help but think about his smile. He was so fun to be around. There are two songs that make me think of Darryl. They are both by Sarah McLachlan. They are, I Will Remember You, and Angel. The sentence in Angel that says,"In the arms of the angel, far away from here" makes me think that she's singing about you. Thanks for the memories. I love you Darryl.

I have such wonderful memories of Darryl and the love we shared. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of him, his mother and father and how special they all are to me. Darryl was such a neat and wonderful person. I can still close my eyes and see his smile and those baby blue eyes. I miss you, Darryl. And I hold you and all of the memories very dear.

Darryl and I became friends up in Monroe Mi. He was a guy that I came to know very close. He was easy and he was fun. He was good and I dont want this to sound weird but he was just so easy to love and want to be around. We worked together and would go outside to take breaks and just kinda of hang around. We did not go out together up there but stayed in touch because we both left Monroe at the same time. Man that Guy was so fun and so good to be around that I just liked to see him. OKEY Darryl and I stayed in touch and we both wound up at FARLEY NUCLER POWER HOUSE. He and I had talked on the phone and it sounded like a good job so I went up there to. We worked the job and would go out to meals and just sort of hang around together. Darryl and I would talk and I told him that I had three daughters and no sons. That if they were not all married that I would want him to come down and win one of my daughters hand. I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO HAVE HAD HIM AS MY SON IN LAW.
