I would also like to share with you a copy of a newspaper article that was printed in the Center Star, a local Alabama newspaper. This article was written by Denny Kimbrel, Darryl's dad!
Thieves cause grief!
To the editor:
This is in response to the letter by Cindy Smith from Central Heights. We, too, know what's like to drive up to such a beautiful cemetery, "Butler" at Blue Water Creek, to find someone has taken two little squirrels and a small rabbit my sister-in-law had put there for my son.
I'm probably wasting my time doing this because these kinds of people are too cheap or don't even read the paper anyway.
Also, some real lowlife, after our son was killed in an auto accident, stole (from his car) an Alabama football card album, a Bulls Eye putter and a pair of earrings he had bought for his mother while working in Missouri.
Our lawyer had advised us not to go to his car for it was impounded and safe.
I would like to make it clear we're not blaming or pointing our finger at anyone except the one that took them. God will forgive you and we will, too. All we want is the things back. If you know who or where these are, please call Darryl Kimbrel's mom and dad at 757-1354. There is a $200 reward if it will help make up your mind. No questions asked.
We already have guards at our schools, locks on our church doors, metal detectors at the courthouse, neighborhood watches. Maybe guards at our cemeteries are next.
