Stephen D. Hyers is a professional fight choreographer
working throughout North Carolina. He has received training from the Society
of American Fight Directors, British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat,
Guild of Fight Masters (London), Fight Directors Canada, and Nordic Stage
Fighting Society. He has also studied two forms of Asian martial arts,
Chito-ryu and Shorinryu, and studied fencing at Carson-Newman College and the
University of Louisville.
He teaches stage combat at Elon University. He is a
regular guest artist with Greensboro College, having choreographed HAMLET, ROMEO & JULIET, and I HATE HAMLET. Other works include MACBETH, MOON OVER
BUFFALO, CAMELOT, PUSS IN BOOTS, PIPPIN, LES LIAISONS DANGEREUSES, and WEST SIDE STORY with such theatre companies as
Little Theatre of Winston-Salem, Community Theatre of Greensboro, Livestock
Players Musical Theatre, North Carolina Theatre for Young People, Greensboro
Children's Theatre, Elon University and Wake Forest University. He has recently added the Equity theatre,
Triad Stage to his resume with the productions of JULIE’S DANCE and ART.

Mr. Hyers is available for film stunt work, large and
small theatre productions and teaches stage combat at private studios
throughout the Piedmont Triad.
