Shuyokan offers classes for adults, youth and law enforcement in practical applications of traditional martial arts of Yoshinkan Aikido, Kodokan Judo, Jujutsu and Shotokan Karate Jutsu.
Shuyokan also offers affordable monthly, six month or 12 month plans for individual or family memberships. Other plans include private, semi-private rates or a 3 year Black Belt membership plan.
Adult Class Times
(18 yrs. and up)
Tues - Wed - Thurs: 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Fridays: 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Youth Class Times
(Age 5 yrs to 17 yrs)

About The Instructor
Sensei David Dye has been training in the martial arts since 1962 and holds an 8th degree black belt in Aikido Taiho Jutsu, 5th degree black belts in Kodokan Judo & Jujutsu, 4th degree black belt in Yoshinkan Aikido and a 1st degree black belt in Shotokan Karate Jutsu. In 1993 Sensei Dye was inducted into the World Martial Arts Hall Of Fame. He has been featured in and on the covers of martial arts magazines and has appeared on national television demonstrating his self defense methods.
Sensei Dye also has produced a series of 8 video training tapes on the use of Yoshinkan Aikido For Law Enforcement which are distributed world wide.
The Dojo is registered with the International Yoshinkan Aikido Federation and the United States Martial Arts Association.
Shuyokan is also the official Aikido representitive for the International Kenpo Karate Institute under the direction of Master Steve Spry in Huntington Beach California.
In 1997 Sensei Dye retired from the City of Costa Mesa Police Department in Orange County California after serving 31 years of service as a law enforcement officer for the community. He was given the title "The Samuari Cop" by his fellow officers.
