R.E.Mills is a self taught artist who has been involved with art for as long as he can remember. His talent was first expressed in his love and admiration for nature.
A native of California, he has had opportunity to document it's beauty, and splendor on canvas, and paper in various medium. With a natural talent, and an eye for beauty in all of God's creation, R.E.Mills has grown into an artist of some repute in the Northern California, Sacramento area. He has studied and worked with the likes of William Granizzo, Bill Petersen, Gary Viviano, Kevin Hellon, Alpha Bruton, and others in his constant development. R.E.Mills works consist of all medium, with oil paint, and pastels his primary choices. He is mainly a figurative artist, yet occasionally does narrative paintings with people of color as his main subjects.
R.E.Mills works have been exhibited primarily in the Sacramento, Ca. area, yet has been seen in exhibits as distant as NewYork City.
His work has been on exhibit at ART-CETRA, ART&SOUL 92'-93, AFRICAN AMERICAN ART SUMMIT 94', LES BEAUX ART CLUB, and the BLACK AMERICANS in STATE SERVICE GALAS
93'-94'-95'. He is a past member of the California Arts Visual Arts Organization, and a receipient of their HONORAIRIAN AWARD for the year 1993.
