Wicked is a Story about Elphaba a Green girl and her friend, Galinda the Good.
The Wizard of Oz is a story about a young girl named Dorothy who dreams of more, only to realize that her only wish is to get home!

     Sci Fi's coming of age tale about girl who is whisked away into the land of Oz is definitely eye opening.  This story isn't so much of a retelling but an out of an ordinary sequel to the 1939 movie and book from the 1900's.  You don't so much as see coincidences to 1939's masterpiece the Wizard of Oz.  But, if you pay attention slowly you understand that DG's journey is an actual copy of Dorothy's journey.  DG was destined to follow a similar path to her ancestor.  Of course the creators of this film designed this film to mimic in ways of the MGM film and book.  But, at closer view you see that if you analyze Dorothy's visit closely her destiny brought forth a family if you will say to her Ozian counterparts in Oz.  You can almost foresee what did happen after Dorothy came to Oz.  How OZ became the "Outer Zone" And What happened to the Emerald City in order for it to become the Central City.  You can see hints of the Yellow Brick Road inside of the Old Road or if you will call it, the Brick Route.  Plus, who prophecized 2 girls from DorothyGale's descendants to become the Light and the Darkness.
 
    The Light obviously is a positive force in this tale as you can also see in both versions of the Wizard of Oz.  Dorothy Gale is the light that was plunged into a Darkness.  The Darkness was a time back when, when the Witches of the East and West controlled Oz.  Dorothy conquered the Witches, Light conquered Darkness.  With this knowledge and the fact that the 1939 movie was only a dream, one needs to look towards the 1900 book series to look more carefully to understand that Dorothy, after 5 visits into the land of Oz, decides to permanently reside in Oz with her Aunt Em and Uncle Henry.  But, here Dorothy is only second  in command.  The ruler of the Land of Oz is Princess Ozma.  She eventually became Queen of Oz, and is best friends with Princess Dorothy and all their lovely comrades.
  
       Think about it as a double vision conjured at the same time.  DG is a prophecy foreseen back when Dorothy Gale went up in that iconic tornado this sent forth 2 destinies and the lives of Dorothy and her future family set in 2008.  Dorothy never had special powers except for the fact that she had the Witch of the East's silver shoes.  In the 1939 movie they became ruby slippers.  But, to analyze further those shoes were Dorothy's future.  They are missing pieces to how and why Dorothy lived and stayed in Oz.   Ones we as the viewer and reader may never fully realized.  Undertones to how DG, Azkadellia, Ahamo and their mother are about how her family came to be.  Consider a continuous destiny prophecized, and changes to life continuous in Oz as we know it to this day.  
  
    An outline as you will see will be different than the outline we know OZ to be.  Oz changes over time.  Just as Life changes for us, only Oz is the imagination of our hearts we turn to. Understanding Oz is essential as our ability to live life and understanding our own.  Oz is everywhere. Here's the Explanation:
