WELCOME TO THE OGRE

Here is a list of OGRE/G.E.V. and OGRE Miniatures related websites.

If you like OGRE/G.E.V. and OGRE Miniatures, you've come to the right spot!

If you don't know what OGRE is all about, go to the "What's this?" section right now to get a quick education. If you are already an OGRE fan, welcome aboard. I hope you enjoy this site. Be sure to check back every month as I hope to keep the site updated on at least that basis.

Description (and URL)

The official Steve Jackson Games webpages devoted to all aspects of OGRE/G.E.V. and OGRE MIniatures. Visit NOW if you haven't already.

The PanPacific Alliance Website. This is my #1 pick for OGRE fan sites. It puts my site to shame so much, I wonder why I even bothered...
http://panpacalliance.tripod.com/
Henry Cobb is the selfless moderator of the OGRE Digest mailing list. His site features a great javascript calculator for figuring the cost of armor units.

OGRE 1/5TH

Jonathan Woodward's incredible work in progress. A true robotic Ogre model using the LegoŽ Mindstorm system
(

Mr. Christopher Shields (Black Echo) has the #2 fan website (IMHO). Yes, I designed most of my site before I discovered his. No, really. I'm not lying.

Winchell Chung did the art for the first edition of OGRE. His site has a seperate OGRE section which, among other goodies, has a cool MK V record sheet. He's also got new stuff in the new edition of "The Ogre Book".
http://www.projectrho.com/ogre.html
Francisco Cestero's website is full of goodies like counter sheets, backgrounds and TO&E on the warring nations of the last war and a YAOPCA (Yet Another Ogre Point Cost Algorithm).

V_MAP is a neat "Drag and Drop" bitmap program for playing OGRE Play By E-Mail (PBEM) created by Todd Zircher. It's easy to figure out how to use, only takes up a few MB on your HD and is freeware. You should try this out if you got a pal out of state (or in another country) who loves OGRE and wants to play against you.

The Maverick's
Classic Microgames
Museum

"The Maverick" was kind enough to let me use some images from his site for my "What's This?" section. His website is a visual treasure trove for all of us who remember microgames...

The largest game store of it's kind in the United States (possibly the world). Over 1,000 sq. feet are devoted to gaming tables alone. You can find the complete line of SJ Games here as well as opponents and demo games.

GEO-HEX has fantastic modular board terrain for your OGRE miniature games. Don't take my word for it, visit their website and see for yourself.
http://www.geohex.com/
The Animation Factory is a great site to get freebie GIFs and animated GIFs. (Okay, it's not OGRE related, but they're a great source for stuff to help build your own website if you'd like to try).

"White Rat" (John, no last name given) has a great OGRE site with a lot of effort devoted to terraining/modeling lessons and pics. In addition, he has a start up gallery and a number of interesting sub-pages, including his own homebrewed regiment complete with history. This is the sort of stuff I want to do someday. But for now, head on over to his site.

Gaming With Miniatures

Jeff Bolton has some intersting home-grown rules for converting BattleMechs to OGRE. Check 'em out.

Robert A. Knop Jr. has a JAVA program that does (roughly) the same job that Todd Zircher's V_map progam does (see above) except that it will run on just about any platform, not just a Windows based PC. Give it a try.

Matt Goldman does things in a big way. So it's no surprise that he wanted to "Blow Up Duluth". Check out this site for a cool home-made map and scenario complete with "How To Do It" notes.

Build an Ogre NOW

There's lots of Ogre construction formulas out there, but I'm partial to this one because its clean and yields pretty close results when testing it on standard Ogres.

Many of the above sites have even more links to different sites. I've only tried to highlight some of the best (IMHO) sites. But there are many more good ones on the web. It's amazing to see the amount of fan devotion out there for just one game system (that's dang near 25 years old!) OGRE/G.E.V. is already a legend in gaming history, but many people feel that it's "golden age" is yet to come rather than already behind us. Not many games can claim that distinction.

I hope to expand the above link list. If you have (or know of) a great OGRE website or webpage, please let me know so that I can add it to this list.
