We are traveling to participate in the rescue of an unknown number of schnauzers from a puppy mill raid in Oklahoma. We urgently need donations to cover expenses to save these very sick emaciated (starved) dogs. Updates and pictures coming as soon as we have them!

Thank You!! To A Wonderful Donor Who Sent The Furkids A GROOMING TABLE AND NEW CLIPPERS for Christmas! You know how much you are appreciated!!!
Whizzer came to us in late summer as an owner surrender. The owner needed to reduce their amount of animals. Whizzer is adorable, playful and has a silly personality! IN short, he will make you laugh! He is six years young and will come to his new owner with a sparkling dental procedure! He is also neutered. He is completely friendly with other dogs, cats, and people. He does take awhile to really warm up to you - he will act a bit shy at first. But he would make an ideal constant companion for just about anyone! He walks well on leash. If you are interested in giving Whizzer a forever home, please email me at the above address.
Bailey came to us in mid-January 2007 as an owner surrender. He is a beautiful pure black larger size Miniature Schnauzer. The owner was selling her house and moving (so she surrendered him to me while I was in the middle of selling MY house and moving... isn't life ironic!) Bailey was a one-owner dog, used to being around other dogs and friendly with people. Bailey adjusted to the move here in MIssouri fine. I soon discovered he has only one major "issue" - if you try to touch any part of his body with a comb, or if you try to pick him up, he will try to bite you! So Bailey has been in 11 months of "no bite rehab" with me and is slowly making progress. It is obvious that Bailey adores us and especially me; however he completely loses his mind when being groomed. Last time, I was bitten exactly 16 times! And that is PROGRESS! It is obvious now that he is trying not to bite but sometimes he just loses it. Bailey is not yet ready for adoption for this reason (EXCEPT to a rescuer who is prepared to deal with this issue!) He is completely loveable otherwise.
I am very sad to tell
you that our very first rescue, Casey Anne, went to Rainbow Bridge
on Friday, December 2, 2005 as I held her in my arms. She enjoyed
four and a half wonderful years here and was beloved by many,
many kind people. Her health finally declined to the point that
I had to make the hard decision to let her go. Goodbye sweet Casey,
we will love you always!!
More
sad news was received recently about Maggie, who spent a wonderful
year with Bob & Sheryl in eastern Iowa. She fought a brave
battle with cancer and went to Rainbow Bridge in September 2006.
Maggie you were one brave and tough girl and made such a huge
recovery and enjoyed a wonderful time your last year of life!
So long dear girl, we will love you always too!!
Bonnie lost her battle with liver failure and went to Rainbow Bridge. We will miss her always and love her. What a dear, sweet girl she was.
Tiny little Heidi, a recent rescue, was under my care while her adopted mom was on vacation when she passed away this summer. She had a fabulous fun 10 days here before she crossed over in her sleep. What a little sweetheart she was!
This site is dedicated
to Sheina Marie. She was always "in charge" of our rescue
kids. Sheina went to Rainbow Bridge on August 19, 2005 and she
will always be missed.
