SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE, AMONG THOSE THINGS REMAINS OUR
Apostolic Doctrinal Statement:
WE BELIEVE IN WATER BAPTISM IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS AND THE RECEIVING OF THE HOLY GHOST WITH THE EVIDENCE OF SPEAKING IN OTHER TONGUES AS THE SPIRIT GIVES UTTERANCE.
Our belief is based according to:
ACTS 2:38 AND ACTS 2:4.
ACTS 2:38"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
ACTS 2:4 "And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."
In Matthew 28:19 Jesus is speaking to his disciples and gives them a commission..."Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the NAME of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"
The book of Acts records the actions of the Disciples.
In Act, when the commission given in the book of Matthew is obeyed, the other disciples did not call Peter into question when he commanded them to be " Baptized in the NAME of Jesus".
In order to obey the commission and baptize in the "NAME" they had to know the "NAME OF" the Father, Son and Holy Ghost is JESUS.
When searching the scriptures:
The Scriptures reveal the name of the father:
Jesus said in St. John 5:43 "I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not; if another shall came in his own name, him ye will receive.
The angel brought the name from heaven...Matthew 1:21
"SHE SHALL BRING FORTH A SON AND THOU SHALT CALL HIS NAME JESUS FOR HE SHALL SAVE HIS PEOPLE FROM THEIR SINS".
In Jesus own words..."I AND MY FATHER ARE ONE".
Luke1:35 Records the name of the Holy Ghost. "And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God."
Thus, In Baptism, when using the Name "Jesus" we are baptizing in the NAME of the FATHER, SON and HOLY GHOST.
(Not just repeating his titles)
We are to believe on the Lord Jesus through the words of his disciples. The first chapter and verse in the book of Acts lets us know it is a book of all that Jesus began to do and teach. Jesus taught them, we receive it from them. Just as when he fed the multitude, he used them to give the bread to the people. Jesus is that living bread which now we are to receive from the disciples.
When Jesus prayed for his disciples (John 17:20) he mentioned us when he says:
"NEITHER PRAY I FOR THESE ALONE but for those who will believe on me through their words. (v.21) That they all may be one; as thou, father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: That the world may believe that thou hast sent me. (v.22) And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: (v.23) I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me."
Please note: This is not a man made religion but a bible based Baptism. If you have never heard this message before, pray and read the bible and see if it is not correct. Eternity is really too long to be wrong. This is not an opinion, it is bible fact.
Power to remove sins is in the NAME of JESUS and not the titles.
The FATHER did not die for sin, The Holy Ghost did not die.
It was the Son (fleshly form of God) that shed blood for the sins of the world.
WHAT CAN WASH AWAY OUR SINS?
NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS.
We get the blood in the water when the NAME of Jesus is called.
Jesus was the Lamb slain to redeem us. On earth we understand there is power in a name. You can not sign a check with your titles. Even if you are a father or a son or a daughter. You have a NAME. There is power in your name. How much more should not we recognize the fact there is POWER in the name of Jesus? He is coming back for those who are called by his NAME.
Question: Where can we get his name?
Answer: We get his name through the water birth when the name "JESUS" is called.
