"Santa's Absentmindedness"
The story begins;
One Cold and Blistery Night.
With Santa readying for
his once a year,
"Christmas Eve Flight."
The packages all stacked,
with colors in a magnificent array.
Piled Miles high upwards
balanced perfectly upon his sleigh.
His absentmindedness of late
had become a trifle out of control.
Now faced with this latest dilemma,
to which had become his main goal.
The gifts sat so proudly,
brightly glistening under the starlight.
All ready for delivery
but not a single reindeer was there in sight.
He scratched his head and pondered,
What Have we here?
These beautifully wrapped presents,
but nowhere are any of my Trusty Reindeer?
This cannot be possible!
I saw them last, wasn't it this year?
Have I left them stranded somewhere?
On a mountain top without any gear?
Perhaps if I shouted,
Each one of them by name.
They'd all come running
in time for our dash away Game?
So Hurry my pets,
Hurry one hurry all.
We have a tall order
all this precious cargo must be hauled.
Then quickly we'll prance away,
delivering gifts and toys.
Bringing gleeful memories this Christmas
To every Girl and Boy!!!
