A Crossover villain for use with Champions and Bubblegum Crisis

History : From the McNichol Diaries:

12.3.2034:Genom got hit again last night, a research lab this time. The Management are being even more close mouthed than usual about what was stolen.

It's not often you get to see the work of a true genius. These days brute force seems to be the preffered method.Who ever did this walked through the most sophisticated security system on the planet with some sort of boomer in tow and didn't even set off the metal detector!

14.3.2034: Never a dull day in the AD Police! Today I interviewed a nutcase who claims it's 2001 and that he was kidnapped by a giant spider. We gave him his own padded room of course.

15.3.2034: I had to apologize to that guy from the past today. Madison, Genom's world secuity director no less, finally admitted that the device stolen from their lab was a prototype time portal!This could turn into a bigger fiasco than that business with the Orbital Defence Grid last year. From what the poor guy says, I reckon our Arachnoid friend is using the portal to commit crimes in an era when lethal security devices weren't around. Just thinking about the damage this could do gives me a headache.

16.3.2034:I contacted the Knights Saber today, Sylia agrees we have to step on this spider before it's to late. This may be a first, Genom, the ADP and the Knights Saber on the same side with no hidden agendas.

From the Turbine Memoirs: 18.9.2001:There's a new criminal in town, the News of the Globe calls her Funnel Web, her speciality seems to be Fine Art. So far the Kulinar diamond, The Ned Kelly collection and "The Scream" by Munch (yet again) have all vanished from museums in the Sydney area. Biofox and Sea Spectre have each indicated that they are investigating, but have not checked back since - not a good sign.

The Funnel Web AI is programmed with Kylie's memory engrams, it is essentially the same persona and is controlled by a reflex suit worn by Kylie.....Or thats what she believes. The Funnel Web was built from parts infected with Largo's fusion virus and is considerably smarter than it has allowed Kylie to believe.What this Boomer's long term goals are is as yet unknown, but petty theft probably isn't high on the list.

Funnel Web Boomer: The Funnel Web is a homemade lash up built from parts salvaged from the wreckage of the central databank building (MegaTokyo). It has a variety of offensive capabilities each designed to cope with a specific problem. An Electromagnetic Pulse Disruptor for frying mecha or Boomer electronics, four venom tipped claws for dealing with aggresive humans and a web shooter to entangle anything else. The Funnel Web can climb by punching It's claws through the surface leaving a telltale trail of chipped masonry, (Kylie preffers running along ceillings as this avoids pressure sensors). It can also leap 20m vertically.

The AI has retained the ability to infect and control mecha and boomer systems with the fusion virus and currently uses this ability to render it Invisible to electronic detection. Kylie is unaware of this.

The Transit Cube: Kylie's latest acquisition, The Transit Cube is nothing less than a functional time machine. Fortunately it's only a prototype and has a few glitches. The Cube cannot be targetted any further back in time than the Wildstrike event, it can only be used twice before it requires a week of recharging, and the activation sequence browns out the Sydney power grid, the cube can be targetted for night time and is accurate to within a month (Funnel Web may meet you for the second time whilst you are meeting her for the first) The cube creates up a time funnel that will remain stable for only an hour and It links identical places seperated by time, so if Kylie wants the funnel to appear inside a building she must break into It's 2034 equivelent. (this is not as much of a problem as it might be - most of 2000AD Sydney was leveled and redeveloped after the great fire 0f 2004).

The Transit Cube is a small white cube with an internal yellow glow, about the size of a rubik's cube, The Time Funnel effect looks like water disappearing down a plug hole, daylight can just be seen at the "far" end.

Kylie Fitzpatric is 5'8" tall with green hair and eyes. When at work she wares oil smeared coveralls, when off duty, Kylie is a fasion victim noticably living beyond her means.

Funnel web was originally written as a crossover between CNM and Bubblegum Crisis, converting her to HERO left a few anomalies. BGC is a very high powered lethal game, Funnel Web can just about hold her own when going one on one with a Knight Saber(BGC) against a Champions team she's more lethal than Doc Destroyer.

1/ Staged penetration - whenever mecha armour is hit, it loses 1def

2/ Some Powers originate from Mekton Z+, I have attempted to describe them in HERO terms but if you have MZ+ use those definitions.

3/ Boomer is a term from Bubblegum Crisis, meaning a self aware android or vehicle - Mechanon would be considered a "Boomer" in BGC

4/ The Funnel Web Boomer has a saddle rather than a cockpit, this means that Kylie can be targetted seperately at no extra cost in "to hit" or armour.

5/ Base Australis is a loosely organised Australian team led by Turbine - It's also a web site with an excellent source of info on Champions/Bubblegum Crisis and the BGC campaign setting  City of Sydney in 2034AD.
