Newsletter – October 31, 2006

We hope everyone has been enjoying the fall weather. October and November are usually the two best months of the year. The number of Sunday flyers has been on the increase.

Please renew your AMA dues ASAP. We do not want to see 2006 cards on the frequency board in January 2007.

David Stewart and Bradley Petty will be flying in the IMAC regionals on November 3, 4, & 5 in Americus, GA.. Good luck guys and bring home the bacon. They both are flying in the sportsman class.

CHRISTMAS PARTY – We will have our Christmas party at the Arts Center on Saturday December 2. We will gather at 6:30 and eat at 7:00 p.m. Our very own BBQ Grand Champion, Kim Pettit, will be cooking the main course of BBQ and ribs and everyone else is asked to bring one or two covered dishes. The club will provide the drinks.

We continue to see some of our airplane flyers began to dabble in the heli side of our hobby. Jason Lemons and Steve McClure are the latest two to try their luck with helicopters. Sonny Stokes is about to pull the trigger also. We want to also welcome new member, Ken Parris.

Speaking of helis, Joe Cochran flew his scale heli last week at dusk. It is a News Channel 9 heli with all the lights. The flight was neat and we have some good pictures and video. Hopefully some pictures will find there way on our group site.
