Update: 2008: Since moving to Gardnerville, Nevada I have built a new Hobby Stock which I am planning on running at Rattlesnake Raceway, in Fallon Nevada. A fast high banked 1/3 mile dirt track.

Luis Miranda, 21M

Hello, My name is Luis Miranda, and I race at the Merced Fairgrounds Speedway in Merced, California. I have been racing since I was 15 years old. I started out in Go-Karts and moved to Enduro cars, Pure Stock cars, Street Stocks, IMCA Modifieds and am now racing a Vintage style open wheel car called a Sportsman. Check back for future photos.

Merced Fairgrounds Speedway is located in the Central Valley of California, just off Hwy 99. It was originally opened around 1950 as a quarter mile dirt track around a football field. It is now a banked one-third mile dirt track with sweeping turns and a short back straightaway. It is one of the nicest facilities in the state.

1999 Sporstman at Merced Speedway, 65 Chevelle body on a homebuilt chassis using a Camaro front clip, 350 Chevy motor with Powerglide trans, and 9" rearend.
