Melissa VanParis Class of 2004

Three time Redwood area  meet champion in the shot, Redwood area champion 2003 in the Discus,

Two time NCS champion in the Shot 2003, 2004 with a 4th place finish in 2002.  

 Qualified for the state championship 3 years in the shot put and one year in the discus. 2002 finished 25th in the shot, 2003 finished 14th        2004 Melissa medaled in the shot put with a toss of 43' 9" for 5th place, she also competed in the discus and finished 18th. Melissa was the first Sonoma athlete to compete in the state championships for three years and the first athlete to compete in two events.

 Melissa rewrote the school record book for both the shot put and the discuss eclisping the shot put by more the 8' with a new record of 43' 10", and bettering the discus mark by over 10' with a new record of 135' 5 1/2"

Melissa was the Press Democrat Track and Field athlete of the year in 2004, the Sonoma Valley High School Female Athlete of the Year 2004 and won the Outstanding Athletic Achievement Award in Track and Field 2004

Skye Vendt-Pearce Class of 2000

Two time Redwood Area Champion in the High Jump: 1999 tied the meet record with a jump of 5' 2" and 2000 set the new meet record with a jump of 5' 3".                        

Four year competitor at the NCS Meet of Champions,  three times competing in the finals with a 4th place finish in the year 2000 tying the school record with a jump of 5' 4".  

State meet competitor with a 19th place finish in 2000.

Sonoma Valley Track and Field Top Ten places: 1st in the High Jump 5' 4", 3rd in the 100H 17.12, 3rd Triple Jump 33' 9", and  T-8th Pole Vault 6' 6".

Two time Track and Field Varsity MVP.  F/S MVP.  Sonoma Valley  High School Athlete of the Year Award 2000

Two time SCL High Jump and Long Jump Champion 1997, 1998.   Triple Jump SCL Champion in 1998.
Two time Redwood Area Meet Long Jump Champion 1997,1998.  
Two time North Coast Section Long Jump Champion 1997, 1998
Two time state meet competitor in the Long Jump 1997 1998
4th Place finish Calif State Meet in 1998.  23' 9 1/4".
School Records in the 400 meter 49.4, and Anchor leg 400 Relay 44.0.

Sophie Donnelly class of 1998

Three time SCL Champion in the Pole Vault, league record holder as of 1999-  9' 3" 
Finished 4th, 5th and 3rd in Pole Vault at Redwood Area Championships.
Two time NCS Meet of Champions Finalist with a 4th place finish in 1997.
State meet competitor with a 19th place finish in 1997 and a vault of  9' 8".

 School Record in the Pole Vault with a mark of  9' 8".

Sonoma Valley Track and Field Top Ten places:4th 3200m 12:24.0,   8th 100HH 19.4, 8th 300H 51.6, and member of the 7th place 400R team.
Track and Field MVP, and Press Democrat Scholar Athlete of the year.

Lauren Cohn class of 1997

Two time SCL Champion in the 300 Hurdles, 1995 & 96.  100 Hurdle Champion 1996. Member of the 1st place 1600R team in 1995 4:21.2

3rd place in both hurdles Redwood Area Chmpionships 1996 and 4th in the 300 H in 1997. Member of 3rd place 1600R 4:14.4 in 1995.

Three time competitor of the NCS Meet of Champions in the 300H, twice in the 100H and once in the 1600R.

School records in the 100H (15.7) and the 300H (46.03)

Sonoma Valley Top Ten: 1st 100HH 15.7, 1st 300LH 46.03, member of 4th place 1600R 4:14.4, and member of 7th place 400R 52.8

Two time SCL Champion in the 1600m and 3200m

1993  NCS 2A Champion in the 3200, 1994 NCS 2A 2nd place finish in the 3200

Two time NCS Meet of Champions finalist with a 4th place and 3rd place finish.

Two time State meet competitor in the 3200 with an 11th place finish in 1994.

School record in the 1600m with a time of 5:12.98 in 1994.

Sonoma Valley Track and Field Top Ten places as of 1994: 1600m -1st-5:12.98, 3200m- 2nd -11:07.08, 800m- 9th- 2:30.0, 300LH -8th -52.1, and the Triple Jump-6th-29' 4 1/2",

Jenna Nouguier class of 1993  

Two time SCL Champion in the 400m, Member of the 400R and 1600R SCL Champions

1993- 2nd Place finish at the NCS Div II Championships in the 400m Sprint.

Four time competitor at the NCS Meet of Champions 1600R, Two time 400R and Two time 400m with a 3rd place finish in 1993.

California State Championship competitor in the 400m sprint, 1993.

School record in the 400R- 50.2 1991, 1600R-4:07.57 1991 and 400m sprint 59.67 1993.   

Sonoma Valley Track and Field Top Ten places as of  2000.  400R: 1st, 2nd & 10th, 1600R:  1st & 3rd, 100m: 8th-13.1,   200m: 2nd-26.4, and the 400m: 1st-59.67.  

Track and Field MVP 1992 and 1993, Sonoma Valley High School Female Athlete of the year 1993.

John Litzenberg Class of 1988

Three time 1600m SCL Champion and one time 3200m SCL champion.

Three time competitor in the NCS 2a Championships with 7th place finish in the 1600 (1987) and a 4th place finish in the 3200m (1988).

Two time competitor in the NCS Meet of Champions with a 7th place finish in the 3200 and a new school record of 9:34.8 in 1988.

School Record in the 3200m 9:34.8.
