Healdsburg Results

March 12 2008

The team traveled to Healdsburg to take on the Greyhounds for our first league meet of the year. The weather was cool, with a slight breeze into the faces of the runners on the back stretch. The boys, after losing two preseason meets to very good programs, were told they needed to focus and fill lanes to be competitive in our league. We also moved a couple of athletes to the varsity level.

All in all the boys really stepped up and we thought we pulled off the upset win over Healdsburg. There were errors made in the scoring of the high jump which gave Healdsburg the two point win. Be that as it may, I am still very proud of the way our guys are competiting. The girls were facing the toughest challenge of the year. They were going against the #2 team in league from last year. After a stumble in the 400R the girls bounced back started matching Healdsburg point for point on the track, meanwhile we won 46 out of the 54 points available in the field events and came away with a decisive victory.
