Vampire the Dark Ages: York 1304

"Nay, Great Mithras! Nay, Mighty King! London may be all that thou sayest and more, but if thy beloved city is where the strength of England doth rest, then certainly York has fair claim upon its heart! For never shall you find such men as you will find in ancient Eboracum! Whatever traits thou dost claim make a man English, in the people of York you shall find them a hundredfold! So, do not consider it a rebuke or an act of sedition that I do cast off the bonds of thy precious Londinium! I am called there by my own heart, by my own English blood, to be among my own kin and kind."
-Leonardo Delyonesse
Sire of Julian Delyonesse
Once Prince of York
In an argument with Mithras

What is it about York that draws so many different creatures there? It is a question that has perplexed many a scholar of such things.
The Cappadocians might tell you that it is the unusually strong spiritual energy that haunts the city that brings them and any who are sensitive to such things to the city.
The Ventrue would counter that it is their long-standing reign of order and prosperity (if you discount the last few seasons) that brings forth so many visitors and immigrants.
Clan Lasombra, of course, would probably find a thousand shadows to hide their reasons for being in old Eboracum...but one might venture a few guesses...and still, perhaps, be wrong.
Gangrel will cry out for Wallace and for containing these civilized folk who gather here, and so come to the city to spy upon their enemies.
Brujah, too, might cry out for Wallace, or may cry out against him (depending on your Brujah, of course...), and recognize (as Wallace did) the strategic importance of the fortified city in regards to their precious Scottish border to the North.
The Malkavians happen to be fairly fond of York and its surrounding shire, for the Delyonesse's have ever been kind to the oft mistreated clan.
Nosferatu have many reasons to fear Yorkshire and the city for which it is named, but it is the only city in the North of England which has the ancient Roman catacombs of which they are so fond of scurrying about in.
Toreador have begun gathering here for purposes of art, often finding the Cathedral to be a prime location for displaying their craft in stained glass, painting, sculpture, tapestries, murals, and so forth.
Most recently, the Tremere have come to the city, seeking perhaps to spread their power bases and studies to the farthest reaches of Europe and Asia.
The other clans? Who knows why a Tzimisce might come so far from his ancestral home in Romania? Who knows why an Assamite might travel so many thousands of leagues from the smoldering deserts of the Middle East?
And the Fey? They were here long before the kindred came to the Isle, and are as alien and bewildering to the undead as they ever have. Who can claim to know their ways, or why they, too, linger about Yorkshire? The Werewolves? Dear God, man....! I have never wanted to be close enough to one to ask! But come they do, and with them they bring the plots and intrigues that always seem to permeate all kindred societies.
