Chief Peter J. Rose, C.E.T., F.P.T.
Peter J. Rose, is a Certified Engineering Technician (Mechanical) and is certified by the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT). He received this certification through studies at Ryerson Polytechnic University, Toronto, Ontario. He has been a C.E.T. since 1971. In 1988, he obtained his Ontario Municipal Building and Plumbing Inspector's Certificate from Georgian College, Barrie, Ontario. In 1994, he obtained his Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright). He received his Diploma in Fire Protection Technology and his Diploma as a Trainer/Facilitator from the Ontario Fire College in 1994. He has completed a variety of Risk Management courses from the IAO School of Loss Control Technology, Toronto, Ontario, including: Industrial & Process Hazards, Sprinkler System Inspection & Testing, Liability Loss Prevention and Crime Prevention. Peter has completed the Security 1 program at Georgian College, Barrie, Ontario. Peter has his Diploma in the Track Foreman's Training Program from the Railway Educational Bureau, Omaha, Nebraska. This program is to provide extensive training in Railway Track Construction, Inspection and Maintenance.
Peter has over 25 years experience as a Mechanic/Millwright, including Maintenance Management, over 13 years of Railway experience, (Fire, Safety & Security, Operations, Maintenance and Administration), and over 20 years experience in the Municipal Fire Service, holding positions as Fire-fighter, Captain, Chief Fire Prevention Officer and Fire Chief. He has extensive experience in Training the Fire Service at both the Municipal and Private levels. He is fully conversant in all aspects of Municipal and Private Fire Prevention and Protection and is very knowledgeable in matters of Safety and Security.
His private Fire Prevention and Protection, and Security experience, includes being the Chief Fire, Safety & Security Officer for the South Simcoe Railway, Tottenham, Ontario. He has held this position since 1992. He recently retired as Vice-President of Risk Management and the Board of Directors of the South Simcoe Railway. He has also been an Industrial Fire Chief and Fire Training Officer and worked in the Private Security industry prior to the South Simcoe Railway.
Peter has a valid United States Social Security Card and is able to perform project work in the United States, as a Professional, under NAFTA.
