***About Gregory Hines***
Gregory Hines is my inspiration. I am his biggest fan. In my opinion, he is the greatest singer, dancer, and actor, of time!
He has been in films that you may have seen, such as History of the World-Part 1, Good Luck, Renaissance Man ,The Preachers Wife, Waiting to Exhale, and many more! He has also been in musicals such as Eubie, Comin' Uptown, and Sophisticated Ladies!
Hines also starred in Tap with his inspiration, Sammy Davis Jr., and in White Nights. He also had his own television series entitled The Gregory Hines Show during 1997-1998.
I think it is so wonderful to have a rolemodel like Hines. He bounced back from bad things like drugs, when some of the people close to him never did. He made so much of his life. He is everything I want to be and more.
This page is in dedication to Gregory Hines, my rolemodel!
*On July 8th, 2001, I took a master class with Gregory during the New York City Tap Festival! I thought I was going to burst during the whole class! It was better than I could have ever imagined. He is SUCH a wonderful teacher. He's also the funniest & nicest guy I think I have ever met! I got my Gregory Hines shoes signed by him & a picture taken with him right after class ended. I saw him outside after & he signed my calander that I have of him & took a picture with me & my dance teacher. It was most certainly the happiest day of my life.
In the small chance that Gregory is reading this now, I want to tell him that he has changed my life. I started dancing years behind the other girls in my class & used to hate tap! After seeing "Tap", for some reason I have been a huge fan ever since & have been an even bigger fan of him. July 8th was seriously the most fulfilling day ever, not to mention my happiest day ever. I want to thank him for changing my life & being the man he is. Thank you, Mr. Hines*
