German Angoras
IAGARB Membership Application
German
Angoras:
The German Angora rabbit is a very
gentle creature, covered with a luxuriously soft fiber. The pure
German Angora is a ruby-eyed white, which means, it is an Albino.
The animal is of medium size but the long dense wool makes it
appear larger. They are also your heaviest wool producer, with
a minimum of maintenance.
The body of the German
Angora rabbit is tubular with firm flesh covering the bones so
well, that the rabbit appears nearly smooth. This makes shearing
less difficult. The German Angora may weigh anywhere
from 51/2 pounds up to 12 pounds and produces 2 to 4 pounds of
angora a year.
