The Beginning

This is my 1989 black mustang LX 5.0 convertible. I bought it new in 1988 and slowly began to modify it. As pictured it had run a best of 10.476 @127.85 at Atco Speedway on 11/17/95 (timeslip data below). I was still driving this car daily (my only car). Changes at the track included advancing timing, changing fuel mixture, fuel pressure, removing passenger seat, slicks of course and uncorking the exhaust. Other then that it was as I drove it daily!

At this point as you imagine it was getting to be kind of a pain to drive daily and I was starting to get a lot of questioning from tech officials.  My cage was a bolt in autopower 6 point and it of course is a convertible. So I decided to build a new race only car.
I converted this car back to my daily driver and it is for sale now if anyone is interested.

Modifications:

Bottom End::
A4 Block,Venolia custom dished pistons 9:1, ferrera tool steel pins, Oliver 5.4 Billet rods, Scat Forged stroker crank 3.4 stroke, Canton pan, mellings pump, Custom solid roller cam by Ron Anderson,Global west dampner, internally balanced by Keith Kraft.

Top End:
Dart Windsor "seniors" 2.02/1.60 valves with mild cleanup on exhaust side and gasket match (stage1), lunati valve train, lunati solid 1 piece pushrods, omega 1.60 rockers. Factory lower extrudehoned, Cartech breadbox upper, 65mm motorsport TB and bored stock spacer, C&L 80mm mass air, Vortech S-trim.

Fuel:
Cartech stage 2 system, pickup in stock tank ,42# lucas injectors, vortech fmu (recalibrated).

Electronics:
Stock eec1v with extender, msd 6al/blaster2,homemade 2 step.

Drivetrain:
Dynamic C4 with brake, roller bearings, vasco shafts, 5 clutch drums and Dynamic converter (aprox 4500 stall), quarterstick shifter, Stock 8.8 with moser 31 spline axles, auburn pro, 4:10 gears, moser c-clip eliminators, and TA girdle., aluminum driveshaft.

Suspension:
Lakewood 50/50 rear, 90/10 front, 4 cyl front springs, Stock rear springs with southside bars bolted in. Sway bars removed. Autopower 6 pt bolt in roll bar and southside welded in frame connectors.

Wheels/Tires:
MT Et drags 28x10.5, MT skinnies, Weld 15x10 and 15x3.5 Draglites.
