It didn't just begin in the 14th Century, We've been here all along.
One of the oldest Churches in Our Lord's Christianity is the Ethiopian Coptic. After all, Africa has always been a place of refuge. Joseph went there, and became official in Pharoah's Court.  A thousand plus years later, St. Joseph had to flee there,escaping from Caesar's friend, Herod. Jesus grew up in Africa, returning at around six or seven years of age. Africa, birthplace of mankind, nurtured and sheltered Our Lord and Lady, and St. Joseph. Joseph learned African carpentry. Mother Mary, African needlework and sewing. Jesus, African language. Ironically, shortly before the Israelites arrived, the Pharoah, Akhenaton(who spoke a semitic based, Egyptian, ancient Bantu-Swahili dialect) began to worship ONE GOD, which he called (translated as) the Sun.  He was almost right. The Son of God ,YESHUA, was destined by the Father to soon  follow.
