Pamjo & The Duggin Express formed in 1990 originally playing country music which was exploding at the time," everbody was country then, remember?" Pamjo was doing most of the vocals,Mike Duggin playing lead guitar & backup vocals , Mike Eckert on drums & vocals, with Gary joining soon after playing steel guitar and  banjo,Spanky Vernon among others played bass guitar. They played the local honky tonks and night spots around the area including some complete with bar room fights & brawls and a few that needed chicken wire in front of the bandstand." have you ever seen some of those bar room brawl scenes in the movies?"They have actually survived quite a few of them.Yep! they have paid their dues the hard way for several years but they sure did learn how to play regardless of conditions or the situation.
In 1996 the country music scene was quickly fading and so were the bands jobs so they decided to change the direction of their music in order to keep playing gigs,"none of them know how to act at home on Saturday night anyway"The band shelved the steel guitar & banjo and Gary started playing bass since they had a vacancy there at the time. They returned to playing the music they grew up with when they were learning to play, rock & roll and what's called "rockabilly".Pamjo still does some of the classic country songs by Patsy Cline as they remain as popular today as ever and people always request them.
They did so well in fact after returning to rock & roll they created quite a stir in the local music circles.Ocassionally singers would sit in with them and be so impressed they wanted the band to back them their gigs including several Elvis impersonators. The band once backed four Elvis impersonators in a single night. The band's big break came in 1999 when Pamjo arranged for the band to back Elvis Illusionist" Steve Davis" at a local event,Davis was scheduled to perform with recorded music but Pamjo contacted Davis and convinced him to use the band instead. When Mr.Davis needed another band Pamjo & The Duggin Express got the nod and has since backed up Davis exclusivly. That's the real story.
