My Stolen Parrots

I have owned my birds, 2 macaws and two conures for a total of 18 years, only to be in a situation where I no longer know where they are since they were taken from my home by the LIPS rescue team. The SPCA authorized LIPS to return my birds in September of 1999, but LIPS refuses to abide by their decision. Elise Negrin, a member of the LIPS board of Directors called me twice, threatening me and Lisa, if either of us continued to try and retrieve my birds. I am publicly announcing that if any thing happens to Lisa, her family, her home or her birds, that the authorites have been advised to investigate certain members of LIPS since Lisa has received several death threats. I don't understand why LIPS just doesn't give me back my birds. At the May, 2001, LIPS meeting, there was literature displayed about my scarlet macaw. It's strange how LIPS claims they don't know where my birds are,according to what their attorney told the Nassau County DA's office, yet they claim the birds are in good homes and are still using my scarlets' name to collect funds from the public. I believe this is FRAUD!!!

False Statements

Did you know that LIPS had printed in their newsletter that I had broken Boobie's back in 3 places? This is totally untrue information. If there exists some type of report to confirm this fact, I'd like to see it. And if it were true, how come there were never any criminal charges pressed against me. They also forgot to mention that Boobie had high levels of lead in her system. IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE LEAD COULD HAVE CAUSED HER PARALYSIS? LIPS DOES HAVE PROOF OF THIS, BUT STILL REFUSE TO RETURN MY BIRDS. AND WHAT GIVES THEM THE RIGHT TO KEEP ALL MY BIRDS? THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE OTHER THREE. I HOPE NONE OF THOSE INVOLVED WITH THE THEFT EVER EXPERIENCE AN ACCIDENT. THEN THOSE THAT PLAY GOD WILL HAVE THE TABLES TURNED. I'M A FIRM BELIEVER THAT WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND. HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE HURT KNOWING THAT YOU COULD LOSE A LOVED ONE???

Since LIPS refuses to give me the courtesy of a return phone call,the People's Court had agreed to try my case, but LIPS realized that their misrepresentation would have been aired on national TV and renegged on their original agreement to appear. Did you also know that the LIPS attorney gave false information to the DA's office by saying that LIPS did not know where MY birds are. In their newsletter, LIPS states that the birds are in foster care. but their attorney told the DA's office that they had no idea where the birds are. How can such a large organization, with such a strict adoption policy not know where the birds that they stole went to? Is this the type of organization that you would want placing your birds???

PLEASE REVIEW THE ABOVE ARTICLE TAKEN FROM THE LIPS:MARCH 2001 ISSUE, THEN ASK YOURSELF A FEW QUESTIONS.


1. MY MOM, MRS. ZANEOFF PLACED THE BIRDS WITH KAREN MULLINS, FROM THE NOW DEFUNCT "MR. KIBBLES", WHO WAS TO HAVE TAKEN THE BIRDS TO MARC MORRONE OF "PARROTS OF THE WORLD." THE BIRDS NEVER MADE IT THERE. ASK MARC WHAT HAPPENED.
2."IT IS DOUBTFUL THAT THE OUTCOME WOULD PROVIDE A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM" I DON'T THINK SO. ANYTIME YOU GO INTO COURT, THERE IS ALWAYS A SOLUTION, WHETHER IF IS FOR OR AGAINST EITHER PARTY. LET'S FACE IT, LIPS WAS AFRAID THAT THE WORLD WOULD FINALLY KNOW THE TRUTH. IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE, WHY NOT MAKE YOUR STATEMENTS IN A COURT OF LAW?
3. "CONTRACTS WERE FORWARDED TO PARROT RESCUE FOR THEIR CONSIDERATION" LIPS HAS TIME TO HAVE A BOARD MEETING, BUT NOT PICK UP THE PHONE AND CALL ME. OF COURSE, THEIR ATTORNEY WON'T MAKE A CALL EITHER. LIPS HIDES BEHIND HIM, KNOWING I CANNOT AFFORD LEGAL COUNSEL. IT'S NICE TO KNOW THAT ANYONE CAN LOSE THEIR BIRDS IF LIPS DOESN'T THINK YOU'RE GOOD ENOUGH TO TAKE CARE OF THEM.
"PARROT RESCUE, INC." WAS NOT IN EXISTENCE IN AUGUST OF 1999. BOARD MEMBERS AND OFFICERS MIGHT NOT HAVE ANY FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE, BUT THEY DO KNOW WHERE MY BIRDS ARE AND REFUSE TO CONTACT ME TO PROVIDE ANY TYPE OF CLOSURE. NO MATTER WHAT THE CIRCUMSTANCES, LIPS STILL DOES NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO PLAY GOD. SUE CHAMBERLAIN, LIPS PRESIDENT, HAS REFUSED TO RETURN ANY CALLS MADE FROM A DETECTIVE FROM THE DA'S OFFICE, AS OF 10/2001. ISN'T IT NICE TO KNOW THAT THEY DON'T HAVE TO ANSWER TO THE AUTHORITIES. MAUREEN DIETZ TOLD A DETECTIVE FROM THE 7TH PCT THAT SHE REFUSED TO RETURN THE BIRDS, WHEN RECENTLY ASKED TO DO SO. IF THE LIPS ATTORNEY TOLD THE DA'S OFFICE THAT THEY DON'T HAVE MY BIRDS TO GIVE UP, THEN HOW IS IT THAT MAUREEN COULD TELL THE DETECTIVE THAT SHE STILL REFUSES TO GIVE BACK MY BIRDS. WHO'S LYING HERE? ISN'T IT NICE TO HAVE THE POWER TO CONTINUE TO PUT SOMEONE'S LIFE ON HOLD? LIPS BOARD AND OFFICERS MIGHT NOT HAVE ANY FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE, BUT THEY SURE HAVE 2ND, 3RD & 4TH HAND KNOWLEDGE. THE DA'S OFFICE IS STILL WILLING TO MEDIATE. WOULD ANYONE FROM LIPS HAVE THE GUTS TO MAKE AN APPEARANCE AND END THIS CASE, ONCE AND FOR ALL? JUST RECENTLY THE SAME TWO SO CALLED WOMEN WHO STOLE MY BIRDS, PARTOOK IN THE THEFT OF SOMEONE ELSE'S BIRD. WILL THIS NEVER END????
