"Fairy Godmothers" of Flagstaff, also known as the Elks Ladies of Flagstaff Elks Lodge #499, has intiated a program to collect prom gowns to be distributed to high school students who cannot afford them in the Flagstaff area. They are asking members of the community to go through closets and donate gently used, clean, stylish prom dresses which will be sorted by size, so that students may come to the Fairy Godmother Prom Dress event and pick out a gown."Announcement posted in the local newspaper Arizona Daily Sun 
You can donate bridesmaid, prom and evening gowns, as well as accessories such as shoes and purses to a great cause!

A custom website (http://hometown.aol.com/storybookbridal/godmothers.html) enabled the Elks Ladies to collect dresses all year, from all across the United States.", said lodge member, Janice Trumpp. "We received 283 gowns from Grand Rapids, Mich., from a boutique that went out of business." ... "We've been getting gowns from all across the country -- California, Boston, Rhode Island, Texas -- from Boston to Malibu. One lady sent 11 gowns, nine pairs of shoes, eight evening bags, and a box of costume jewelry" ... "The generosity of the people is just wonderful."
