Student Radio Drama

Student Radio Drama

Student Radio Drama is...

...a full semester curriculum through which students create their own radio drama. Based on current events -- personal, social, educational, or local -- the story and its characters are created by the students with guidance from a professional writer-producer. Once written, the show is cast, rehearsed and performed both before a live audience, and in a professional recording studio. Students are required to learn research and interviewing techniques, script formatting, story structure, character development, voice and diction for radio, sound effect creation, marketing to radio stations, creation of graphics, and performance and production skills. This is an empowering class, and each student leaves it with new skills, and with a cassette copy of the drama they helped to create.
